What have you done to your JEEP today

Installed new Weebee seat covers on my M38 springs with a little burlap and polyfill. Awesome quality stuff! Also installed the tub after finishing the floor replacement and welding up 98 extra holes.

    DIY Injector Servicing

Right. I have a squirt bottle for assembling pumps and injectors that has some 5 or more year old calibrating fluid in it, never seems to change much.

    DIY Injector Servicing

Nice set up. It's good to have a steel lapping block as well. Injector bodies and sometimes even new nozzles require lapping to seal properly. Most of the injectors I overhaul are KDEL for John Deere, but I've done a few sets for the multifuel engines.

    Best glow plugs

I've seen some knockoff Chinese plugs recently marked exactly the same as Wellman on the base, with a "380" on the hex. They have flaky plating and slightly different fonts, the hex is 10mm, and the angled seat fits tightly to the element instead of having a little clearance up to the internal...

Wife wants me to do the unthinkable due to the Florida DMV debacle!

Maybe not new information, but I was told by a GP rep on the phone last week their title option is no longer Montana off road, but Florida with no restrictions. Hopefully that signals a change in that state.

    Purchasing new tires

Great people to deal with. I bought a set of MT's and they were 2020 dated new take offs. A couple weeks later I bought a set of run flats and 24 bolt wheels from them. The wheels also appear new and dated 2017.

Which states are not HMMWV friendly?

My last bond was about $130 through State Farm for $8400.

Which states are not HMMWV friendly?

Correct, I've done a few bonded titles, Iowa has never recognized the SF97. Form 411187 will cover the FMVSS requirements. I've been told by DOT current processing times are 5 to 8 months, my last one was only 4 weeks. Edited to add that the 5 to 8 month estimated time on my application in...

    Purchased a 2006 Humvee M1097R1 - Need Help

Good articles. I found an M998 dimensional data plate on my 2006 M1097R1, hidden under the insulation by the accelerator pedal. It also has date codes of 1993 on wheels and battery tray.

    Purchased a 2006 Humvee M1097R1 - Need Help

My R1 is in the 600000 range and still a 3 speed as well.

    Tire talk

I just received a set of the 2018+ MT's from Feltz. They were all 2020 date codes and the lube was cleaned out already. The MT's on my 1097 are all 2005 dates with decent tread and hold air, but I don't trust the cracked sidewalls.

    Current EUC Wait Time

Nice! My "submitted" and "approved" emails came in just seconds apart as well. Had the truck home just 9 days after winning it.

Anyone dealt with Iron Planet in Junction City, KS? Now with 2 lots 6/10/21

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to bump it so people know this is still a problem. I was looking at satellite view where my Junction City purchase was, and I noticed there was a pump house type structure in the auction picture background that wasn't there on satellite view. A little...

    GOVPLANET/USMC latest EUC times?

HMMWV purchased 30 NOV EUC sent 5 DEC 22 Submitted to TSC 6 DEC 22 Approved 6 DEC 22 Never thought I'd get one back that quick! Edit, just noticed this thread was for USMC EUC, mine is not.

    Corn head grease in winch

Deere doesn't have a recommended service interval for row unit gear cases, we just top them off every year. These have an input shaft speed of about 500 RPM and run thousands of hours in their life. I wouldn't worry about changing it in a winch or steering gear. The AN102562 Deere grease is a...
