i believe what you are describing is the manifold heater pump and ignition coil. (if your facing the windshield from the front of the motor it is on the left of the valve cover)

This was the first round ram (M Head) i ever saw. The previous owner kept all his machines in museum quality condition. I am lucky to have it.
I have seen those adapters, most are for gear cutting. Either way, I don't do enough jobs like this for me invest in that part.

you should see this setup I got in my bridgeport tonight... Talk about a a pain in the butt . Stupid axel shaft for a 68 mustang??? Has taken over 2 hrs just to mock it up and modify tooling to do the job. I still have to shim my vice about 3" off the table...

After reading all this, It makes me come to the conclusion that the best solution for a "bullet proof" design that the wheel cylinders should be made from Stainless Steel. That way you can use Dot 5 and any pooling of water/moisture would have no affect in the wheel cylinders.
