The LBCD should have protected the truck components, but the A1 has several connections, a disconnect switch and battery relay before the LBCD. Not knowing exactly what he connected and how, he may have completed a short circuit thru those connections and contactors. a weak connection could...
You really should have a diode on the 12v feed to the power panel. If the battery ground path is disconnected, battery power from the 12-24 battery can possibly flow thru a 24V circuit to chassis ground and backward thru a 12V device to reach the - terminal of the 12-24v battery and complete a...
No problem. The thing with the fans is that they are inverse control. They provide power to keep the aux cooler relay and solenoid energized, which keeps the fans off. The thermal switch is normally closed providing the 24V and opens at 205F to de-energize the engine fan control solenoid and...
The trans fans should come on with the engine fan. I can look it up this afternoon but pretty sure aux cooling relay works in concert with fan control solenoid valve...
Yea, garbage in, garbage out…
actually I forgot to ask, can you access diagnostics(press both arrows at the same time)? Are there any codes stored. If it goes into giag mode, the display will flash D1, then 2 sets of numbers. Also note if the mode light is lit(Indicates a current fault)...
I would do it the same way I start cold generators remotely, with a run detector and crank limiter:) Basically you automate the start sequence… that was I think 27F with no preheat or ether…
with only the timer, and a 2 second crank doesn’t get r done, you drag your happy ass out in the cold...
The OEM transducer is 0-100 PSI for 0-5V output. That is why the 150PSI boosts tire level. The controller doesn’t know pressure, it knows voltage. 55PSI on the 0-100 sensor is 2.75V. 2.75V on the 150 PSI sensor is around 80PSI… I am not sure what sensor Christians is programmed to read, but...
On the A0, K24 is the starter lockout relay. It and K11 get powered when the main sw is turned on, and are de-energized when the oil pressure switch hits 15PSI. This enables the alternator and disables the start button/circuit.
On the A1, K11 does double duty, energized it powers the start...
What is your oil pressure idiot light doing? K11 provides the power to enable the alternator when it is DE-ENERGIZED. On the A1, The neutral relay(K26) provides the power to energize K11, and the 15PSI oil pressure switch provides the path to ground to complete the circuit to energize K11 and...
Dont forget the slave receptical:)…
They branched the 28V line to the slave receptical off of the disconnect sw and they split the output of the disconnect relay 28 to the starter and LBCD. On the A0 all 3 of those lines run to battery +28V…. My A0 had 6 leads total into the battery box.
I...
The A1 moved some connections used in the A0 from the battery box to the A1 switch box.
The single wire toward the cab is probably the main ground to the starter. The 3 wires to the switch box are probably ground for the slave connections and 12 and 24 to the manual disconnect.
Little thing on top of the gear case just outboard of the spool release lever? It is called a relief(part#13 on the 24P exploded diagram), it may be a vent for the gear case housing. I have not seen a spec for servicing the gear case, I am not sure how it is lubricated, but if you had a shaft...
The A1 and A1R are wired the same. You can find an A1 schematic in the manuals section here on SS.
in the end pretty basic:
2 grounds a 12 and a 24 cable…
One ground goes to the starter neg terminal(front of starter case).
A second ground goes to the slave-jumpstart connector.
One 12V goes...
4 temp sensors on an A0.
1. As mentioned for the ether system on the 1” crossover pipe that runs across and down to the trans cooler/heatexchanger. the information on this switch is conflicting, mine opens at 35F, so no ether above that temp.
2 For fan control, located on the upper radiator...
