    Rear Differential

Good opening question Cucvnut... Guys, if you're going to ask for help, you really need to state year and MV type like M1008, M1009, M-35A1, etc in your post. We're not "mind readers"... People need to pull their heads out of their duffle bags and "think" before posting. Geez, I see...

Nice scare on the freeway...now what happened?

Negative on that statement. I routinely drive my M1009 at sustained speeds of 80 mph on the interstate for hours at a time and pulled my MEP 003A on a M116 trailer from FL to TN running between 70-80 mph without issue. Don't know if you know the difference in gear ratios between the CUCV...

    2012 Ga Rally parts wanted/for sale/swap thread

Parts I'm bringing In addition to the Hawker 6TAGM batteries I'm bringing (all spoken for, but may get more - bring your trade-in cores...), I plan to bring: * Grade 8 bolts and nuts - really big ones (I'll post pics and specifics later) * Brake shoe liners - NSN 2530-01-281-5224...

Look what I found and where!

Ha - no wonder you told me your M1028 was "off limits" while I was scavaging parts off your M1009s... :-D I was thinking maybe you scored a M1911 or M9 pistol (one can "dream" right?), but those glo-plugs make good tradin' bait to those who can use them... Good score and story Jeff...8)

    Interstate Driving Etiquette

Yep WARWAG - I noticed some of the 09 owners are shy of running faster than an 08. My 1986 M1009 is happy at 75-85 mph on the interstates and as I said before, it has seen 95 mph (short time though) without feeling it was going to blow up. On the other hand, my M1008 (which I recently...

GL's larger photos snafu - calling GL...

Hmm, I tried the dragging to new tab, but couldn't get it to work... However, I did "discover" another "work-around" that is pretty easy: * Pull up the original GL photo viewer * Right-click off to the side of the photo (not on the actual photo) * Right Click Menu pops up * Select: "Open...

GL's larger photos snafu - calling GL...

On my laptop running IE ver 8, the maximize box is "grayed out", so not clickable. I should switch over to another web browser though...

GL's larger photos snafu - calling GL...

That worked after I copied the photo link to my address box (but still had to use my vertical slider to see very top or very bottom) - thanks... ...but that method is a "work-around" and... ...GL needs to fix this for us IE users - either allow us to "maximize" the pic viewer or allow us to...

GL's larger photos snafu - calling GL...

It's nice that GL is now using larger photos on many auctions - the only problem is the GL website picture viewer will not maximize to show the entire photo (one has to use horizontal and vertical sliders to view each photo). Hey GL, can you fix that?

    Tailgate problems

You'll need to remove the inside access panel from the tailgate and take a look around. Why are you asking about parts/alternative solutions when you should be taking it back to the body shop and asking them why your window won't roll up...?

    Corelokt's leftovers

Pretty harsh language to us don't you think Jeff? Are you a moderator? No? You sure act like one... Gets old you and another guy from Michigan who's handle ends in "Place" troll around these threads and posts just waiting to bust other member's rear-ends... Yes, why don't you implement a...

    Recent M1008 Projects

Bolt on receiver plate on a M1008 potential issues I also have a receiver plate (not as long or with as many bolt holes - mine is just 4 bolt holes) on my M1008 that was installed by the previous owner(s). It was bolted on too with four bolts, but they took off the "L" shaped reinforcing...

Proper tow bar connection to any CUCV?

Hmmm, looks like I did have the feet oriented right, but what pctrans said about dips and binding made sense too. Next time I'm home, I'm going to put a tow bar foot on my front tube and check for travel and binding...

Proper tow bar connection to any CUCV?

Great input pctrans. That was a brand new (in the box) tow bar and believe it or not, the hole for the pin was not reamed out and the factory pin did not fit - so we had to use a "tractor bolt" (fixed now). No TM was in the box, so I "winged it" regarding foot orientation - now I have a TM...

    1600 mile recovery.

Wow, two flats??? Glad you made it back safely 2002Ford and was glad to help you on that pintle hitch removal. :) It was nearly 100 degrees in MS the day I was at CSM Davis' MV salvage yard and met 2002Ford and his family during his M1009 recovery.
