    Hmmwv rubber O-ring warped

The o-rings are based on the rim number. Mine were red for the 12 bolt with alignment hole.

Received 2002 M1097A2 for firetruck build - looking for advice

Big advantage of 24V accessories is you can use smaller wires, since it’s less amps. Lighting and other things used on commercial vehicles should be available in 24V formats.

Received 2002 M1097A2 for firetruck build - looking for advice

HMMWVs are just fine loaded to GVWR, so don't feel bad about doing it. Just stick with the stock springs and suspension components. (The alignment is usually set on the HMMWV at GVWR...)

    M998 heater duct/tube replacement

this is the routing I ended up with, but I’m not sure it’s correct. (My HMMWV was complete missing the duct, so I didn’t have anything to go off of)

    M998 heater duct/tube replacement

I just replaced the missing heater ducting on the drivers side, but I want to make sure I have everything routed properly. Does anyone have any pictures of where the duct drops down (aiming toward the floor), and how it's attached (or is it more less just lose)? The 24P-2 Figure 331 shows a...

Received 2002 M1097A2 for firetruck build - looking for advice

My advice, check all the glow plugs, change all the fluids, looked around (especially under the hood in the lighting compartments and above the steering shaft in the dash) for chaffed wiring that needs to be fixed, check the portal axle nuts, make sure you have good tires and wheels on it. If...

    Upper vs lower driver's mirror

I only have one position on my HMMWV. Based on how yours is, would be upper.

    Upper vs lower driver's mirror

My drivers side mirror. note I don’t have them straight out, instead turned to the side. This works for me.

    New Kicks for SGT Hulka

Can you post a picture looking down the side? I’m wondering how the edge of the tire and body side compare

    First HMMWV

MacMotors is another selling of reputable parts. Note, they're not the least expensive place, but they often have things others don't. (Same can be said about SECO, Eastern, and Kascar..). It pays to shop around for things, and all of the sellers listed in this thread do a good job listing if...

    Humvee beadlock rubber runflat replacement

not right as far as I know. I’m using PVC inserts from wig splitter. Shaved off some weight, but I still have the bead lock.

    New wiring issue….

And the rest of the dash is reassembled, the HMMWV is running all the lights, gauges, wiper motor/pump, etc work

    New wiring issue….

Well wiring is now repaired. All of the stuff in the left of the dash is reconnected. Need to finish installing the instruments and the high beam switch. Then hopefully it works. (So much for todays plan to go to the lumberyard for remodeling supplies)

    New wiring issue….

First picture was the washer sprayed circuit you can see where the wire melted… second bundle is a bunch of dash grounds. They are both chaffed and I found them connected with a red wire nut.

    New wiring issue….

Found more wires that were chaffed, looks like the rest are all grounds.. but I’ve got about 8 wires it “fix”.. at least

    New wiring issue….

You’ve got to see this to believe it. circuit 71C, windshield wiper circuit. Apparently was rubbing on the steering shaft, shorted, welded itself to the steering shaft knuckle, and then (luckily) broke. Argh, now I have to find both ends and get this fixed, but could have been worse!

    HMMWV Reverse lights

First you need to add the reverse switch and get power to it. Lot of the time people will buy a kit (with bracket and switch for the 4L80 or just hte switch for the 3-speed). You split power up at the horn, run it back to the switch, then back to the lights (I went along the main wire harness...

Picked up an M1165 - Want to Restore it

lol the roof, sides, walls, etc leak on HMMWVs.. everyone who ever drove them in the service tells me they all leak. Even after replacing seals and other fixes, everything still gets quite wet inside during rain. The main thing is to avoid water on the dash (just for comfort of the driver, as...
