Not to fear, I am king of over engineering. According to Silver Lake park employees, all added seats need safety belts and there must be a roll bar behind the last persons head. I will be putting a roll bar front and rear. I wanted to add seats for the adults that end up riding with the kids...
Sweet. I would love to get an idea of what these trucks can do before I get myself in over my head. Unfortunately, I don't know of other fellow military truck owners near so going solo I need to be careful.
Oh, that sucks. The truck I am getting has the 1400x20's, do you think it would go through sand? I thought about adding some bus seats to the back and taking it to a place here in Michigan called Silver Lake.
I scrutinze the crap out of the videos, there was a 928 that went last week that was not charging, it went high. As you noticed, many smoke pretty good too. Id rather pay a bit more and not buy a bunch of problems. Good luck with your recovery, maybe Ill see you there. Ryan
I drove my first truck 450 miles. Throw cation to the wind and go for it. Bring some tools a friend with a chase car and a credit card. Stdy as much as possible and you willl be fine.
I was looking at 5 tons built in the 80's and noticed all the NHC250's where flat on top, all those built after 1990 had this hump on the intake. That when I noticed in the write up on those with the hump they are the 6CTA turbo charged. Thank you for the response.
For one does the turbo charged have more power? But my concern stems from the fact that many OD green trucks have tan engines in them. Which makes me wonder if they were swapped out at some point. Also just from hearing the videos, the turbo charged 250 seems noisy.
How about just putting the 395's on and turning up the power on the Cat? My A3 has developed a slight slip going from 3rd to 4th but for all the previous mentioned post I think I am going to rebuild it to stock specs.
