i didnt think about it being electronic.
on a side not my replacement piston and liner arrived, however the liners outside diameter seems smaller than the OE. when i installed the liner in the block there was a very small gap between it and the block. i was also able to move the liner back and...
you all arent much fun when it comes to experiments are you :burn:
yes i found a bare block but to build it would cost the same as a complete motor. i really wanna keep it simple and go with a stock replacement
I appreciate all the opinions. If I can patch this engine and make it last long enough for moving around the shop and short drives that way I can buy a bare block and have time to build it
Ya was just thinking about dillinger out the cracks. Not sure if I can weld some of those up or not. I didn't see that motor for 1900. Do u have a link
I would tend to agree with you but let's just consider it an experiment. It appears that building a motor from a bare block and finding a used motor is the same $$. Any opinions
im not so worried about the cracks between cylinder liners as much as i am the one running to the bolt hole. Only problem i forsee is coolant in the oil. However i ordered a new piston and liner and will give it a shot.
please keep in mind there was no coolant found in said bolt hole during...
yes i went with stock injectors just so i could get it running. after running it i was getting coolant out of cylinder 3 and valvetrain noise from cylinder 6. was hoping for a cracked head but found cracked liner and small cracks around the bolt holes in the block. im gonna pull the liner and...
From the looks of it the head gasket seals to the top of the liner and then around all the coolant jackets. Also being that the liner is a "wet" type, a new liner would seal off any issues underneath. Is my thinking wrong?
