I understand that but rockwell axles get used in many dumptrucks also. They made these trucks to be serviceable almost anywhere in the world with common parts (or at least i thought they did).
A perfect example of shopping around, check out the price difference for the same part.
So I am just trying to understand this better. A newer designed manual that has EVERYTHING in one place to do a job without needing to flip thru 3 different manuals is a bad idea?
If we never tried to improve on anything just because it was already done as is, we would all still be...
I am stuck hitting the Napa's and auto-zone's for as much as possible. thats why in-part i try to find the cross reference numbers. I have ordered parts with great success and great prices but i am getting strapped for cash, so if there are parts i can return unused it is a HUGE help to me.
That much I know, however on a mac its a bit different. when printing you can select save as pdf, however since my last update it wont allow me to save as a pdf while in printing mode. But i think i may found what i need... THINK....
ok.. lets try this the simple way. I need a total cross-reference list of parts to service a Hub and Brake with seal numbers and gasket numbers and such.
I already have bearing numbers, shoe numbers, and wheel cylinder numbers.
i downloaded 2 cross referance sheets but some items are not shown
now that was funny.... (and clever)
Seriously tho, I think i figured out where i was going wrong. I started in the normal TM and then i was trying to find it in the parts TM. so if the parts tm's have their own numbering system then what is the system for that are in the other tm's that dont...
i take that back... I am looking at TM9-2320-361-24-1 (see pic) and i downloaded TM9-2320-361-24P :) and the WP numbers are not even close . I must be missing something.:?
I first looked up 0188 00 and i got this (second pic):-?, so then i even tried the WP 0151 00 and got this...
I know i'm the new guy around here but everybody and their mother is saying DOT 5 ONLY.
I have a mechanic friend that says the only difference is for high heat and for the amount that i will use it i could use dot 3. however you never now if it will damage anything and one thing i am not is a...
Napa had the kits for the same price but i don't own a hone. 2 kits plus a hone, for just a tad more i get 2 new ones.
But thank you.. you wouldn't have a P/N for the rear wheel studs? in the TM it's just listed as "item 370, WP 0470 00"
Where the **** are these "Work Packets" anyways? That...
I just spent the better part of the last 2 hrs searching TM's and finding the Important parts that pertain to the rear hub, brake drum, etc...
I combined them into one PDF. Hopefully this will help others.
cool, thanks for the explaination. I wont knwo for a few days as I have to tackle 2 wheel cylinders. Firs time for everything.
Lets review, I ONLY had the truck about 9 weeks:
Alternator belt
HH replaced and know familiar with it
Primary spin on kit
New secondary and final fuel filter
Fuel...
I will give it a try. I am sure its easy once perfected but now it goes against everything i know. I am trying to stop or slow down so raising rpm's seems counter intuitive.
