Yes, the front end looks like it is shaking from left to right. I will check the bearing. Is that a hub or separate bearing and race. If bearing and race what is the preload or is it just by feel?
I was thinking about mounting the spare and just see what's inside the left front. If nothing then I will try that. Besides some services and a broken CTI octopus its in good shape.
Okay, so it looks like I should replace the front two tires for starters. Does anyone know of something close to Michigan? I know of some places in PA but with shipping they are like 300 each.
That was a long one long hot day. Driving the Dan Ryan was a blast. The truck ran great, seemed to shake pretty good at an idle. The left front seemed to develop a shake over fifty. Also, every 30 to 40 minutes I would hear a howl from what seemed like the dash. It would last for 1-2 minutes...
I'm excited, going to hopefully use the A3 to tow it home. It was parked 8 years ago for a bad fuel pump so looks like I'll need to find one of those fisrt.
Sounds like a sweet deal. It's a 1952 m38a1 from AZ with 2500 miles on it. It's been sitting outside here in Michigan for the last 8 years but appears to be very solid. Not to bad for 500 dollars.
