Let’s revive this but add a twist.
Haven’t been driving the truck much but It started noticing a “thump” like you would get driving over the expansion joints on a concrete slab highway. Today the truck has a noticeable “quick shimmy / bounce” at the same time.
I recently greased all fittings...
Did about 60 miles to try and keep blowing the cobwebs out. Sometimes the ABS light comes on after start up and stays on for a while before going out. As we’re cruising the back roads I thought to myself “these canvas covered seats are more comfortable than I remember in the HMMWV’s”. After...
Removed some of the PLGR kit. Installed the back-up alarm kit. Painted & mounted the Options Panel. Checked the hub oil condition & levels. Ordered a U-joint because the intermediate shaft has a broken grease zerk & I could not get it extracted. Installed two 8” convex mirrors - one in...
OK, I got it. These are “hot boxes” for storing ammo 25mm under the floorboards in the rear of the BFV. Prior to this there were black plastic boxes that the ammo came in and we stuffed them under the floors. It appears that these boxes replaced the black ones.
Changed oil in the two rear differentials. Replaced the broken idiot string on the NATO slave cable connector; I used camo 550 cord. Let me tell you - those little eyelet cord anchors are tough as hardened nails to spread open to remove the old cord and put the new one in. Bought a new...
I was close on the ammo in the ready boxes. Ready boxes held 230 & 70; HE & AP rounds. 600 rounds were in black boxes and stored under the floor and in sponson boxes. Total combat load is 900 rounds. I believe there may have been other 25mm variations like SABOT.
Silly questions, I apologize, but;
Do you have battery voltage through the brake light switch?
You “only have running lights hooked up”. Does that mean they are hooked up & working correctly?
Have all of the Black Out Drive lights have been removed? If so, what was done with the wiring; was...
Are you loosing air pressure? What is your running air pressure?
Did you bleed the brakes like this:
Master cylinder; brake booster, then farthest wheel away working back toward the closest wheel to the master cylinder?
