I'm gonna use 2 1/16 Auto Meter gauges. I think they are the best and you can get them at Jegs or Summit.
I also plan on installing a radio, so that spot is taken. So water temp will go next to the stock voltage gauge, and the oil pressure will probably be mounted to the bottom of the dash...
Take it off and see what the problem is. Should be a big thick washer behind the nut. Mabey the threads a boogered up.
Good time to change the seal if it needs it.
Sounds like you need to tighten the pinion yoke nut. This is common.
If you dont have a new nut, take off the old one, clean everything up, put locktight on the threads, and tighten to required rotating torque speck.
Oh and that should be a 10bolt front axle unless someone changed it.

FYI
The spindle nut size on my 1968 M101A1 3/4 ton trailer is 2 9/16.

I wonder if i was to lightly rub it with lacquer thinner, I coud see it better.
I really like the V-bar chain. They bite like nothing else in the icy stuff. As for brand i dont like one over another. I bought mine off Craigs List for $40 brand new.
My vote is for this. When i got my 1008 there was some pretty hokey fix's on it that made me say wtf?
Change the fluid and filter, hook them up and hope for the best.
If they do leak, rather than bend up a new line, i have used compression fittings. But if it was totally mangled or missing...
