John seems to be the man to go to. The one and only time he did not have what I needed he directed me right to someone who did have what I was looking for.
Was reading the open / closed vent comments on the gas cap. My M37 is in the process of a frame off restoration, so a long way to go. Just had my gas tank given the Tank Re Nu process. My gas cap has Pressure Cap stamped on it and I see nothing as far as a vent which can be opens or closed...
I also found a new drivers door at Mid West Military but seems NOS left doors are hard to come by. I did pay quite a bit more for the left door. I still have both take off doors from my M37 if anyone has a intrest. They are clean and straight and need only some minor work. I also have a cab...
Call Memphis Equipment they had a few NOS right doors in the box. They did not come with Glass but had the window regulators and lock sets. Picked one up from them on E Bay for $195.00.
I have done a couple. Get out the TM on engine and clutch over haul and read it before starting other than that, pretty straight forward. You will need a press to get the gear pressed on to the shaft. Becareful here since you only get one shot at getting it in the right spot. Also pay...
Looks nice. I am a mechanic from way back so all that stuff is easy. Paint and body work I can do also. Was a pertty good welder at one time but no experience with the new stuff they have now. Which is why I opted for replacement parts. I am hoping to find some one that could use these body...
I saw the pictures of your cab tub you are working on. Not sure how far you have gotten but I have a tub that has good sheet metal and solid interior structures. Some of the floor supports need work. I am replacing mine with one I picked up that had spent its life at Davis Monthan AFB in the...
The thing with the cannon plug must be a common problem (aka screw up) I took mine off today in preparation to pull the engine and found the same thing. At least now I know why it was not charging. I did straighten the pin out and noted when properly installed you only have a few threads...
Given the time and money we all put into our MV restorations I hope we all have a real fire extinguisher some place on our vehicles along with a pair of good leather gloves. Just an old FD Battalion Chief sounding off here! If you have a vehicle fire that is not quickly controlled the end...
Thanks to all you guys for the help :D. Now that leaves me with still another question. I am doing a frame up restoration and wanted to be as mil spec as possible but I must say Bills ride looks mighty nice with the tricked out wood work.
Any body out there looking for a fender mounted hot water heater kit I have one. It is a take off but in nice shape. Gunny 155 @ firechief104@comcast.net
Many years ago, like 30, I was a fork lift mechanic. All fork lifts back then had flat head engines made by Hercules or Continental. The rule if thumb for cold setting valve lash was add .001 to the intake setting and add .002 to the exhaust setting over what the specs called for. So for a...
