the flywheel will have an "A", "B" and a "PC" mark on it. sometimes they are rusty but you'll be able to see it. this is on the flywheel NOT the blower wheel. you dont need to know tdc unless you are doing a rebuild and want to double check that the factory pointer is set right.
well as for the switch on the control panel, here is a pic of it so you can get an idea of the direction it points by where the "D" is facing. i do have the switches avail if you decide you dont want to continue to turn it with a pair of pliers :-P
the switch for the big voltage selector on the...
of course follow isaac's suggestion first because that is easiest. as for the injectors there is nothing complicated there. disconnect the fuel lines from each one, remove the 2 bolts and hold down plate. the injectors can come right out or be tight in the cyl head. if tight you may need to...
the other head bolts are 4.25". 4.25" tends to be kinda hard to find but 4.5" does work. the head bolts are grade 9. here are the mcmaster #'s for both bolts and the thick washers.

the battery charging system is fairly simple. of course first thing you need to check is the fuse. its the holder just above the oil filter. if thats ok and connections look ok then its most likely a voltage regulator. these can be had new or used. they do still make them and new are around...
mine used to start smoking at about 80% and die at 90. i let jerry do the injectors and it will run all day now and barely smoke at 130. thats with one cyl with very slightly lower compression. it takes a min to heat up and for that one to clear
i have a 4000psi 4gpm Hot unit and that runs off a 13hp honda. thats not 1/2 the engine the 003 is. i doubt you will have a problem squeezing an extra 1000psi and 1 gpm out of it. interesting project though. keep us posted on your progress.
dave, its no big deal really. one of mine does the same thing. one cyl is just a hair low on compression and will pump a little smoke until the units is warm then it starts firing. i have run 133% with this unit no problem and have 28hrs on it now. one of these days though when im bored and i...
im not sure if they are the same gauge as the 002/003. i would imagine it is. if so my digital hz gauges will work fine or i can dig up a original around here. i probably have a couple with the transducer. just shoot me a pm.
yes i remember my dad going to the local hydraulic shop here in town to get a line made and they told him it wasnt a standard 45deg fitting and it was a 37 or something like that. i never looked into it any further.
