Heres 2 weeks ago. Took 2 days to get that stump out. The 5 ton refused to give me low range no matter what i tried. After the job was finished i dumped all the air in the tanks and the truck went right into low range. Guess i have a sticky dump valve on the transfer.
Also got the winch...
Block heater in, new thermostat, coolant filter is in and plumbed but i sprung a leak and had to turn the ball valves off till i can get it fixed. Looks like the one and only hose i was trying to reuse bit me and sprung a leak. Ooooorrrr. My heater core is leaking wont know till i have more...
Looks to me like it isnt pulling all the way out. If u cant get her shut down im sure you know u can just snuff it out with a board or phone book.
Im not sure on those older trucks if they only used a mechanical kill lever. Or if it had an electric kill solenoid like the 855 cummins. Hopefully...
Which way is the water flowing to the heater core? Is the hose by the thermostat the OUT flow to the core and the hose in the oul cooler the return?
A1 NHC250 if that matters any.
i always make sure there are no cameras or phones around right before i do somthing dumb or questionable. I dont want people to have proof that im a big dumb animal.
Used to be antifreeze... I think at least.
Going to finish flushing tonight. Install block heater and a new thermostat also rigging up a spin on filter for the coolant.
Well its big... Wouldnt be my choice in a build but if the owner likes it then thats what matters. That said its unique and no one else will have one on his block.
Sooooo... After some finagling everything seemed fine started the truck hit the kill switch and nothing truck stayed running. Out of frustration more than anything else i tapped the solenoid with my combo wrench (not very hard mind you) and the truck shut right down. I have dad restart and...
Thank you gentlemen, i cant describe how insanely happy i was to have a working shut off switch and not have to use the emergency shut off handle LOL.
My 925 has 2 wire put together to one eyelet to hook to the single terminal on the shut off. I also see now there is a fuel leak around there...
So my m925a1 with nhc 250 is driving me nuts. Since we picked it up with 5k miles a saw red paint on the front bumper and it was marked throttle sticks. I never experienced that issue or what i would consider throttle sticking. But the trucks fuel shut off solenoid has never worked. Last friday...
The truck came from Delaware so i "ASS-UMED" it was a cold climate truck and figured it had one. Now im getting quite sure i dont or if i do it has failed open. Only nhc 250 i have seen with a failed thermostat it failed closed and truck got hot fast quick and in a hurry before she shut herself...
Thats an excellent point you have brought up. I have all my coolant sitting waiting for me to have time and flush the truck. SCA's never even crossed my mind so now im curious as well.
That said. No matter what i do i can NOT get my fan to come on or my truck to get over 170* on the gauge. So...
Veterans Day parade in Topeka Ks. We had the woman veterans again this year. These gals are tough as nails they crawl right up the ladder and im sure get slammed around pretty good back there with our horrid roads, that and the AT2 tires make the truck bounce on every lug at that low of a speed.
