Where is the common sense in selling more M1 Abrams to Iraq, knowing that ISIS has already captured the previous ones. It is almost as if someone is purposely doing this trying to unravel things over there.
Coming from the diesel and trucking industry, straight diesel #2 will start to gell around 17 degrees F. The diesel will start to form wax crystals and as it gets colder they will get worse. If there is any sort of biodiesel mixed in with the regular diesel it will incease the gelpoint...
While you are replacing the compressor, I would also recommend replacing the air dryer with a standard Bendix AD-9 setup, that is what I did on my trucks. The air dryer parts on the LMTV's are very hard to find. If you don't have a good working air dryer, you will have alot of problems.
To address your question on finding a body, those are pretty hard to come by these days, at least one that does not need alot of work. They are also very high priced. The last one I saw was $10,000 and in decent shape.
Still awfully risky with that hold harmless agreement and no title. All though there are states that will issue a title so long as you have a bill of sale and the physical vehicle with a SN.
We have been using all the original military 6TL batteries. Makes it easy to fit in the correct battery box, versus making something to a standard automotive battery to fit. They are pricey though, upwards of $200 each.
I would say you would be best suited with a M931A2 and that will give you the CTIS. Also the M916's are nice. You will want a 6x6 for off road use.

We have installed a couple of the A/C units in to LMTV's. This will require the condensor unit, the A/C compressor, some custom made lines, brackets to mount the compressor and the front crank pulley to run the belt for the compressor. We had to custom make the brackets and the front pulley...
