When I replaced my deuce return lines, I used some of of the cheap poly tubing from Lowes I had lying around (not DOT rated). That stuff turned soft in no time. I replaced it with some DOT tubing and no issues after that.
A old machinery jocky trick was to spray a piece of equipment down with diesel fuel. It would make paint shine like new money, until the dust blew up and stuck all over it.
There is no way to just plug the hole and add air. It's a tube type tire, you can't plug a tube type tire. You may think its holding but it isn't a safe repair. Better yet, you may want to take it to a tire shop and get a expert opinion.
Best thing to do is get the tire off the wheel somehow...
I don't know what that stuff is but it's not tipical foam filled tires. Maybe some sort of sealant?
On the foam filled tires I've seen, the foam sets up solid and you have to cut the tire off the rim to change it.
I'm locking this thread for now until we can run this by admin and other mods.
Talk of pending legal action is against the rules. This may break that rule.
I've got a cheap air materess (I think it's Coleman) that I've used in tents and the deuce bed and the comfort level is lacking. I have laid on a nice one though (don't know the brand) and it was real comfortable.
The problem with the really thick ones is I will loose a lot of headroom on my...
Yes, I'm still working on it. It's been a slow process but I've just about got it ready enough to take a trip with.
Beds are finished, A/C installed, and I put a counter with cabinets back in that was in it when I bought it.
Only thing I need is to find some mattresses for the beds and come up...
I'm trying to change out my fuel filters on my 003 with Napa filters. The wiki page list a Napa 3113 fuel filter but when comparing it with the military filter, it's a good 1/4" shorter. Will this work?
If you do it yourself, just make for sure you have the caging bolt in place and tightened all the way up before unbolting anything. Even after that is done, never stand directly in front or behind it when taking it apart or putting it back together.
As said above, probably be best to have...
Where can you get a DB2 rebuilt for $300?
I can rebuild one myself for less than $300 (providing the head and rotor is usable) but most shops around here want $700+. If I could find somebody to rebuild them for $300 I'd do that instead of rebuilding myself.
That's pretty much what I do. After you figure the premium and sales tax, you're pretty much at 20% in most states. You've also got to remember that you pay sales tax on the premium also, which my state (TN) usually refunds me because they don't require tax paid on the premium.
Yes.
The only thing you may run into is it not mixing well with whatever is already in there. May want to drain the whole system and refill. I've always just added regular hyd oil to what was already in there without problems but you never know.
I've thought about a set of gin poles for my deuce. I've already added a rolling tailboard and a 10K HMMWV hyd winch mounted in the front of the bed.
On a 5-ton, I'd think you'd want a bigger winch than the 10K. Probably something in the 20K range minimum. A hyd front winch from a M939 truck...
Like Suprman said, on the few I've been around, we've just used regular hyd oil.
I honestly think just about any oil would work on such a simple hyd system.
Back when GL was selling vehicles, I've seen trucks missing major components (engines, trans, etc) and not a mention of it in the listing or pics. Of course GL's terms were they weren't responsible for anything.
GP does offer buyer protection and provides a inspection report but most of the...
