Here is a couple I've done- http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?50583-Started-my-dump-conversion&highlight=Dump , http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?50583-Started-my-dump-conversion&highlight=Dump
I haven't actually seen one fail, I'm just comparing the frame rails of a...
Your hoist is mounted "backwards" of any I've installed. I have seen them mounted like that though, whatever works.
While I've never done a M939 dump, I've done several deuces and other 5-tons. I will caution you on one thing, be careful with bed strength, especially with that hoist mounted so...
Well when I say "I'll tear in down when I get a chance to see what's going on" I must admit really means "I'll throw in in the pile with all my other broken parts and never fool with it again". I guess you could call me a hoarder when it comes to MV parts. Seems every time I throw something away...
The old pump looked fine and on a bench test I could shine a light through the screen and see the impeller shaft turning.
I ended up putting in another pump I had and everything ran fine so it must have been the old pump. I'll tear it down when I get a chance and see if I can figure out what's...
I've done the usual filters and inspected lines and everything. I'm pretty sure it's something inside the tank. I'll get a new pump but I need this thing going tomorrow. It just acts like it's sucking air through the intake.
I'm going to try my other spare pump and see if it works. Last resort...
I pulled the pump and took it apart, everything, including the hose, looks fine.
The thing that has me puzzled is it's still pumping when no fuel is coming out, it's just pumping air. You can see bubbles coming out of the bleeder. It's like the fuel level is below the intake but there is 3/4 in...
I've got a strange issue that I can't seem to nail down. Truck will run fine for 5 minutes or so and then die. You can open the bleeder on top of the filters and get nothing but air bubbles. You have to leave the bleeder open for about a minute and then you'll finally clean fuel, it will start...
I think I found a solution. Went buy Lowes yesterday and picked up a frost proof faucet and a threaded nipple. I then milled out the nipple to slide over the faucet stem. I'll solder the nipple to the stem and I should be good to go.
Since it's no longer a wanted thread, I'm going to move it to...
I do know the NSN is 4510-01-092-4045, P/N 1229643, cage code 19207. I'm still having trouble finding somebody that will sell me one.
Worst case is maybe I can go buy a standard frost proof at Lowes, remove the flange mount, and try to figure some way to solder a threaded nipple on there.
Sort of like that except instead of the 2 bolt mounting flange, it is threaded to thread into the tank. On that one there would be no way to seal it to the tank.
Yes, it has the long tube to keep it from freezing.
The correct faucet threads into the back of the tank, has a long stem that protrudes onto the tank about 6", and has threads on the outlet to accept a garden hose.
Once I get the tank empty I may try to disassemble and repair but I had just...
Anybody know where you can find a replacement rear faucet or rebuild kit for a M149a2? The other day when I was using mine and went to turn it off, the stem screwed completely out so something in there must have broke.
I use it to water livestock and hook a hose up to the rear faucet. Now the...
I'm looking at something near Yermo, CA and am looking for somebody to oversee the load out. Please let me know if anybody can help me out. PM for more details.
I ran across this pic on the web from Operation Desert Storm. What caught my eye is the troop seats are on backwards. I've never seen them done like this, I guess it's a way to add extra cargo space.
Have you heard one of these run? They are very loud for a RV. It will also be way overkill unless your RV is huge.
I'm not confident enough to buy one straight from the auction site. I just don't know that much about generator electricals to take that risk, unless it was dirt cheap.
Always go by the frame number.
I bought a deuce directly from the military that had the wrong data plate. A bunch of paperwork came with the truck and it all matched the wrong data plate.
Sounds pretty cool but I don't see them getting very far with the military without the primary fuel being diesel. Try getting any of the fuels he listed or even straight gasoline through the military supply chain out in the field. Under ordinary conditions, none of the fuels he listed will be...
This was the last thing I needed before we head out on our first camping trip. Now I just need to find some time off work to go camping.
I went with this little inverter because the MEP is just too big to lug around and way too noisy. After doing a bunch of research, of course Honda is top of...
