All, I acquired an unexpected project vehicle that is a m998 with a 6.0 and 4l80 swap in it. I'm curious what others have done for a lower radiator hose from the water pump to the radiator. I've got a few hoses that are questionable and leaking and just thinking there has to be a better way.
Nice! Yea I tried a few things to get the stuff off but in the end I sanded them off with a DA a 80 grit and then 120 and then hit it with some touch up paint. Came out good!
I had thought about repainting the entire trailer woodland camo, probably would have done it if the underside wasn’t...
Yea its a 6.5 Turbo motor. not sure what Im going to do with it, but it was free. You should see the trailer now, I touched up a few places with touch up paint and its really nice. For some reason the GovPlanet decals wouldn't come off so I sanded them off. looks perfect now.
no worries dude! Post away, let’s see a before and after. I do think you’re going to have to get something that’s more aggressive than vinyl cleaner and restorer. Best of luck!
Sounds like a fun project! I wish my trailer was woodland camo, but for some reason those sell for more money. I thought about painting mine but I just don’t have the motivation, I keep telling myself it’s just a trailer. Those canvas covers are incredibly expensive. I’m hoping that I’ll be able...
did you get one of the ones from Butner? They had some Tan ones that were really dirty. I would think you would need to use a chemical on them to get them clean.
Can someone give me a lesson on Body Lifts for Humvees? Specifically a M1123 model? I'm looking at what's available online and Im gravitating to the steel brackets. I'm just not sure exactly how you deal with the steering column and what else needs to be moved and adjusted.
This is the kit on...
Im new to the Humvee world and certain information that Ive been able to find regarding solid axle rigs has been a lot easier. I'm trying to figure out what the WMS "wheel mounting surface" distance is on the front and rear of a Humvee. Is that identical to an M1101 trailer? Regarding the body...
Can anyone comment that has done an LS swap with the stock 4l80 transmission, is the Holley terminator Max the way to go? Where is the harness that controls all the lights on these trucks and how did you integrate to that? Full 12v conversion throughout?
Never been a fan of carburetors off road but that’s an easy setup. Wiring isn’t too bad on the 6.6 and 6l90 except you have to take part of the transmission apart to be programmed for a stand alone controller. We will see, I really like the 6.6 L8T platform and most of the LQ engines I’m seeing...
nice! I won my truck a few weeks ago, engine I’m assuming is toast so just trying to figure out the best course of action. I’ve really been considering 6.6 and 6L90, but idk. Might be easier to just put a LQ9 / LQ4 in it and move on….
While I was there I noticed that it looked like there was some green spray paint over some markings on the tailgate. Obviously there is a portion on the tailgate that says USMC and the registration number, but just above that there was something they painted Green paint over and Ive got no idea...
In route to a work project that was canceled due to the pending hurricane I detoured to the GovPlanet facility that has my truck. I asked if I could see it in person, even though I don’t have my release papers. They had no problem and took me to see it. Really nice folks there. Apparently my...
