Can someone explain to me the actual difference in a Slantback A Pilar and the other style of A pilars?
I’m gearing up for a conversion to a slantback and im finding stuff about swapping wiper motors ect... is it totally different than other windshields?
So I fell into a deal that looks like I may buy my first HUMVEE.
2 trucks both solid mechanical shape from a trusted friend who bought 12 trucks and cherry picked his top 3. Now there 2 that have been offered to me very right.
Truck #1 - 2 door troop carrier, aside from a broken heat gauge is...
I learned my lesson in deep water and sand last year. A friend of mine and I crossed the Cheyenne River in the morning to meet with and spend the day shooting with some friends from the other side of the river. We decided to cross with his M109a2 rather than make a 120 mile trip around to the...
I plan to put them on my lifted bobber. I get nasty axle wrap with my 1600x20s and a 9" lift. I also plan to build a anti wrap bar. With the box off it is clear that my axle is wrapping a lot.
Ive had to put this toy on hold for a while because life has been busy. Now I have a chance to work on it again. I pulled the box off and raised the frame a bit to level out the truck, big handling improvement. I will be lowering the box about 5 inches, this should make the truck more stable by...
This thread is alittle old but it was something I found with that much talked about "Search" function.
I was having wondering problems with my lifted bobber with 1600x20s. I checked tie rods, wheel bearings, pitman arm, toe in, drag arm, steering box bushing were good, wheel / rim to see if...
I dropped some air out of my 1600x20s (running 30 psi currently) and that helped a fair amount. Im hoping to get the truck jacked up this weekend and check for wobble, maybe flip my casters and see what happens. I have an arm from Steve6x6 but he based it on a A3 not a A2 so it never fit the...
Have a local machine shop do it, shouldn't be a big deal. I had a local shop do my HEMMET adaptor plates and they punched in the bolt pattern and depth of cut. Done in a couple hours.
Good to know, I am going to flip my Casters and see it that helps as well. Worst case I put them back.
I am starting to wonder if my steering arm is flexing a little. I have been looking at pics from other builds and my steering arm appears to be less ridged than most. I might call Kyle at...
No shocks yet. That will likely happen in the next month. From what I have read they should help a little but likely wont cure the "wondering". I will jack the truck up and check my steering set up and see if there's any thing there that I missed when I built the truck. They were OK when I...
I built a Bobber a while back and have had to put it on the back burner for a while. I hope to get back into the project this winter. Under the truck I have a 9" lift and 1600x20s on Hemmets. I used the trailer springs off a 105 for the rears and used the 105 box as well. I still need to fab...
Driving the truck up on might be the easiest, I use a mechanical bead breaker from Harbor Freight. Uses a big impact to run the foot down, works great.
