I got a couple of gutted nose fairings.

    PNW Info Thread!

To those I haven't gotten back to yet, I'll try tomorrow. Rather than peacemeal viewing, I'd prefer to show the trucks this Saturday mid-day? I had no idea so many people would be gluttons for punishment even for free. The truth is, they won't be truly free, they will require significant...

    PNW Info Thread!

Thank you for your thoughtful input Dale, it is MUCH appreciated. I agree on your order, it is the best order for me after all. I just don't want to be preceived as being a jerk about it. Some people ARE going to be dissapointed, I just don't like being the bringer of bad news. These...

    PNW Info Thread!

AWESOME work Dale!!!!!!!! On the Stalwart issue, I think there are enough people in line for a very few trucks. I will have to evaluate some kind of pecking order but I'd kindly like your help and guidance guys. I want to make this as fair as possible! How should I weigh the following...

    PNW Info Thread!

Steel grates over the intakes and as I recall stainless steel impellers. They aren't tiny little drives, bigger than a Berkley in a modern jet boat but with axial flow turbines. The intakes are on the side of the hull about 6" below the waterline and 3' above the bottom of the tires.

    PNW Info Thread!

Thanks guys, I appreciate it! Speaking of height, they are only about 8 feet high at the cab, 8'4" sticks in my brain, (over the cab mounted spotlight) BUT the crane variant, the FV623 is a bit taller because of the folding crane behind the cab.

Thank you! With 2 ruptured disks and one bulging I should have been smarter and used the crane rather picking up several hundred pounds of awkward metal. The HEMTT was only 20 feet away! I often act stupidly and I admit it! :cookoo:

    PNW Info Thread!

*******HIJACK ALERT******* OK, I was going to spend the summer getting some of the old iron running and driving (out of the yard), specifically 4 Alvis Stalwart amphibious trucks, 2 with cranes and 2 without. Last week I nuked my back and I'm not going to be able to work on them. They will be...

Retired M925 Finds Home In Seattle Area

Welcome to green sickness! Since you mention Hwy. 18 E your actual location might not be that progressive bastion that is Seattle. I doubt you get such a proper and courteous welcome had you been driving down Capitol Hill. ;) On the most part, people love MV's!

    Base X shelter won!

We were surprised by the size of the aluminum box the tent came in, it's HUGE, 4 people could sit inside it. The tent only takes up about 1/3 of the interior space but we'll put more camping gear inside for easy transport. You'll like some of the members new display pieces, we made a trip to...

    Base X shelter won!

THANK YOU so much DUG, I REALLY appreciate it!!!!!!!!! Jane would KILL me if we screwed up a new tent, it is our first new military tent. The GP small we have, even though it has the rubberized coating, stinks and leaks in the stitched seams. I woke up last year in a 1" deep puddle after a...

    Base X shelter won!

Does anyone have a copy of the Base-x pdf manual, the link no longer works and I've spent quite a bit of time searching the web and cannot find it. I just bought a new and unused 205 and would like to know tha proper procedure rather than risk damaging a brand new tent. TIA

    Insurance on an LVS MK-48?

Yup, $420/year with an agreed $75,000 value. It has an appraisal that they have a copy of for quite a bit more, due to the condition of the old beast. They insure my Scorpion tank too. Scooter, I have a HEMTT, NOT a former USMC LVS. The HEMTT is a straight truck, not articulated like the...

    Insurance on an LVS MK-48?

My HEMTT is insured with JC Taylor, and yes, it has to sleep inside. Scooter, I get between 3-4 MPG with it.

I hope it came with a couple pickup truck loads of parts they stripped off it. Have fun with it, Ferrets are great starting armor, it was my wife's first MV.
