Thanks Mike, there are a few ideas left in my  warped mind.
It is astonishingly quick to secure now, even my kids do it aside from tightening the ends of the cover with the ropes, if they were taller, they could even do that.
I just weave my ropes down the side of the cover and tied a common knot at the end. I secure the loops on the ends first and then just pull down the rubber ropes to the tie downs on the bed. Fast and secure!
I also got my tiedowns at Murray, they gave me a killer deal when I bought like 30 of...
Jeff,
It's life brother, we don't have to like it , but we have to deal with it. At least they were kind enough to offer the parts first before scrapping them. I was offered a split of the revenues from the sale of the parts but I declined, I want the parts saved. My wife thought I was...
Jeff, if you really want to get your panties in a bunch, it's being funded by a public arts program. I don't know if it's state or federal but tax dollars are going into the project.
The trucks fate is sealed, I just want to see as much saved as possible. I must say for a bunch of...
It's in the belly of the beast in the Republik of Kalifornia, near SF.
If it weren't 800 miles away I'd be helping find it a temporary home. Sad too, we had to call off our trip to Lodi (just East of SF) in a couple of weeks or I could have helped out and picked it up on my trailer...
Nope, not mine but the pumps may be avaiable too, they are making a people hauling land barge of sorts with an artsy feel. From the same people that made and brought this to burning man 2 years back.
Yes, he owns the tractor but with this bed he could have both the tractor and the amphibious version without too much work. Not that anyone in their right mind would swim one, the engine is IN the water!
I would but it is 800 miles from me and I sold my M656. I have been contacted by someone looking for a bed and you just can't seem to find any complete ones. He called me 6 months ago and I have no number for him. I stand to make NOTHING from this, other than the fact I want to save one from...
I have been contacted by a person who has an M656 that is undergoing a conversion to a work of art?!? They have the bed removed, it has the proper folding seats in the doors and they need to move it ASAP. I'm told it is in really good condition but they are holding off scrapping it...
I bought a roll of the stuff. I use it to secure the entire HEMTT cargo cover with the exception of the 4 corners where I have to cinch the ends really tight. I knot mine just fine and make loops for the ends for quick attachment.
Sorry but you are incorrect. Aircraft performance deteriorates because of high "density altitude" and takes into account the altitude and temperature. In short, high density altitude is the correct term when referring to performance at high altitudes and or high temperatures.
 Good pilots don't do something so blatantly stupid. You must be driven by similar sensibilities. :cookoo:
I'm thankful no one on the ground was hurt, regarding the pilot, not so much.
As a licensed helicopter pilot, I know exactly what they were doing. It might be one thing to do something like that to bring guns to bear on the enemy pinning down your soldiers, it is another to do it as a stunt. Especially with a $35 MILLION bird!
Thank you gentlemen! Since Damon started the HEMTT project he decided when he did anything, it should be done right, I'm just following along . . . I HOPE. There are numerous places where upgrades need still be to be done but it is slowly coming together. The major things left is to remake...
OK Dave, I'll have to check on any plans or drawings next week.
The header was all my work and head scratching. With bows in place you cannot drop the sides. Because of the thickness if the folded 1/8" aluminum, the stake pockets are too small for std. HEMTT bows. I made steel stake...
