I just inherited a 1986 M816 wrecker with a bad engine. The previous owner was at a show and the truck started smoking, on the way home the engine developped a loud knocking sound, but it still ran so he drove it home (30 miles).
Long story short I ended up with the truck, I towed to the...
I know the feeling about low batteries, what my son did was get 2 solar panels and controllers hooked them to 2 batteries (24V) and a booster cable. What we do is plug the panels into the truckfor a day or two the batteries recharge, then we move to the next truck, so at least once a month each...
The biggest experts in Canada can be found at the Hammond Barn near Ottawa. Go to the website www.mlu.ca Bob and his gang can help you with any questions.
Yes both valves on the truck were turned on and I also check to make sure I did not have the hoses on backwards. It's the little knob on the front that is throwing me for a loop. It says on the plate "Push to release brakes"?????
I remember back in 1971, a young infanteer and we were told that we would be taking tactical helicopter training. Well when the day came the Maine National Guard had sent 4 Hueys to our base in New Brunswick and there we practiced loading, unloading and what to do and not do. What they didn't...
I recently got a m989 trailer and am having trouble comprehending the brakes on the trailer. I hook up my brakes to the truck M35 and hit the pedal once or twice but the brakes are locked. On the front of the trailer there is a push lever and once you play with this the brakes unlock and the...
One thing everyone should remember MKTs are getting scarce and what is coming from GL is in very poor condition and has a lot of missing equipment. Relate the price of MKTs to the price of M35s, years ago a M35 would have sold for less than $1000 today the trucks are going for $2-3K. As...
Your best bet is to ask M109guy on the site or go to www.militarytrucks.ca and ask the web master he is my son and M109guy and he built the panel and has all the numbers. Gilles
Yes the genset is a MEP 903C and yes you do have to open the doors for air and exhaust because we put a plate under the generator on the original model there was an open area under the generator welder.
The MTO does not require a Z endorsement for hydraulic brakes. Get reqular plates for the deuce if you want a daily driver. A historical plate has too many restrictions, with a historical you are not allowed on any highways, any roads with posted speed limits over 70 KPH. You cannot drive after...
What province are you in???? In Ontario to drive a deuce all you need is a G licence because you have hydraulic brakes. (air over Hydraulics) some provinces might need different licences check with the licencing office, each province is different.
The control panel wasbuilt from scratch using the diagrams and information for the original panel. Overall cost for the panel is in the $600-$700 range. It does what the original panel did.
I run a Volvo 640 tractor to haul my 30 ft trailer and because I drive in Ont,NY, PA I have a IFTA sticker. If you only drive in your home province i.e. Ontario you do not need an IFTA, In the US it is a different ball of wax. If the 3 axle truck is used for recreational purpose you do not...
I guarantee you that if the vehicle had been registered it will be transferred to your name with no problems. The only ban there is on Cdn MVs is with the MLVW. I will be atacking again DND after the elections. Gilles
What ban are you talking about, there is no ban on the Iltis. The only ban that applies to Cdn vehicles is with the MLVW. If the vehicle is registered you can register it to your name just like anyother vehicle. There are no special rules or regulations concerning the ILTIS.
We were looking at GL this week and we noticed something new, GL seems to have removed the EUC requirement to purchase generators. The is evident in the events in PA and NY. Now anyone can bid on them.
To import a deuce into Canada is very easy and no problems. I have dealt with Eastern surplus in Philadelphia, call and ask for Dave, good guy. These guys will customize a truck to your needs such as installing a Hiab. I have bought and imported 4 trucks and 2 trailers from him and will be...
I need to have 2 M1009 moved from Reeders PA(near Stromberg PA) to Watertown Ny near Fort Drum. Both vehicles are runners and waiting for pickup. Vehicles are about 16 ft long standard width & height. Will pay cash, anytime within the next 10 days. They can be moved one at a time or as a...
