For the roof, if you have a second sheet, you might devise a way to mount the
second sheet an inch or two above the first, but eliminate the sides. The
idea being like a shade tarp. I don't know how dificult it would be to make, but
I suspect it would really get rid of a lot of heat. I got the...
The part in pic 4 is the top mount point for the dolly set.
1 and 2 in the pic bellow.
The part in pic 5 is what the dolly set hooks into. I have a M720 dollyset that I use with my
S280 shelter. TM 9-2330-285-14&P/TO 36A11-21-10-1.
The relay is activated by a 12 volt source, but switches the 24/12 volts to the glow plugs.
Disconnect the contact portion of the relay and see if it still chatters. If it still chatters,
then remove the relay and hook the coil of the relay up to the battery with a good cable
and see if it...
If you end up needing a GP controller, I suspect you could buy one from antennaclimber.
I wouldn't think shipping would be that bad, and his prices are excellent. Also,
they are new, not refurbished.
My guess is that it is the glow plug module or the glow plug relay.
Try pulling the module and looking for fried components. Also
clean the contacts on the board edge. Just use a pencil erasser to
shine them up.
Welcome Yoeri from the left coast (California). I remember climbing lots of stairs inside
the Atomium back in '61 on a vacation to Europe while in school in England.
Down load all the TMs from this site.
Check starter support for missing bracket.
I would put 35s on. (needs simple lift like fliping spring brackets I believe and clipping fender.)
Put in new springs and bushings on front end.
put in a solargizer to keep your batteries from sulfide buildup. (I...
Sorry for the mislead. My post was in reference to CUCVRUS's tongue in cheek
response to my previous post. Reread his post and it will clear things up.
His references are to the movie "Back to the future"
Cool! Glad you liked it, just remember to use the correct inverse flux cable
to connect to the modified diag connector. Let me know if you need the plans
for modifying the connector.
You may not want to go that tall, but at least increase it a bit. It is very easy
to forget about pushing it too fast, especially if you run into time sensitive problems.
I would suggest going with the 35 inch tires or she will be stuck going 55 mph and
tempted to go faster resulting in blowing the 6.2 l engine. Also if
you upgrade the tires, then put new or upgrade kingpin springs and bushings.
You really want to minimize the possability of her having to deal...
Hey Rich, got a link to the springless kit? Also Do you
remember the size of the washer you used so I'll
have everything ready when I tackle this job.
Thanks a bunch!
Bruce
Yes it is jumping the gun, but on an old truck it is probably
a good idea to replace the springs and bushings. And although
I haven't done this myself, it looks to be a reasonably easy
procedure. Just my two cents.
My guess is it is the springs and bushings in the king pin assembly.
There is more leverage due to the taller tires is what I would think.
I started off with the HMMVE 37's and had the same problem. I
switched to 35's and it mostly went away. I still need to do the king
pin assembly over haul...
Just a thought. Seems this might make for an interesting project for some teen
to go through boxes of this stuff and try to find out what it was and learn about
military stuff. i know that when I was a kid I would have loved a project like this.
