The surprise is discovered.!! Ghostdriver discovered the plot to give her a hand with her engine. Since we have been outted, we will post some pictures. I tried to install the new camshaft without pulling the head, but the new cam came with new springs and it was impossible to remove and replace...
If you could post a picture or two it might help to make some suggestions. What type of easyout broke? The 4 flute style are easier to break, but they are a little easier to work out with someting like thin needle nose pliers. The spiral type easy out is a bit more difficult. ~~ Heat might be...
I have managed to work a broken bolt out by using a small cold chisel and making a hook on the broken bolt to use as a push point. Tap lightly with a ball peen hammer on the chisel rotating the bolt to turn out. If that does not work, then you can try to drill and easy out. Heating the block...
Wallew,
You are too kind. It is good to hear from a Legacy Club Member. Your axle clamps are here when you need them. Ghostdriver has not gotten the silk-screening operation set up yet. She is waiting for Jollyroger and Oldfart to get her studio set next to her house. (The bed off an M109a3...
Gunfreak,
Neat to keep the old tower, but you might look at the early 70's Chevys in the C60, C70 size. They too used a tower with that automatic and it might connect to the 700R4 with a less complicated shift arrangement.
I think the last "something we have to do before we can start on the M43 again" issue has been resolved. I took some cell phone photos of Ghostdriver installing the power steering gearbox on her F350 crewcab dually this afternoon. It has been so long since I used my cell phone for a camera, that...
If your fuel pump is the double action type (pumps air for the windshield wiper) you most likely have a split diaphragm. This allows fuel to drip into the crankcase. A single action pump would drip on the ground. A crankcase diluted with gas tends to thin the oil and can take out the bearings...
Good that I found the site. After getting MY knuckles rapped by Doghead this morning I think I will let this die on SS and move it over to m29cweasel.org.
It does sound like a civilian engine retrofit. How ever, it could be an older (WW2) military engine. If it is a correct engine, it should have T245 xxxxx stamped on a boss at the top of the block just under the head on the passenger side front. The military exhaust and intake manifolds are...
I got registered, but the internal links seem outdated. I tried to submit some info and the contacts were no longer valid. Is m29weasel.org the right place?
I am the fault of no work on Ghostdriver's M43 yesterday. Weather started out OK, but things were going to mud season quickly. I stole Ghostdriver to help me with a recovery and it turned in to a longer day than we thought what with snowy slick roads and drivers who just can't cope. Some sexy...
Not sure why M29's are getting posted with armored equipment, but it is a personnel carrier. Another photo showing more of the rust. Can't do photos today that show anything as it is all covered with snow. Weather was OK in the mountains where it was picked up, but got nasty as we came down onto...
Colorado is concealed with permit and open except it really freaks out people from non flyover states. I was on my own farm in my jammys stalking a varmint in my yard and some do gooder saw the 20 gauge from the highway and called the Sheriff. It has gotten so bad with the increasing housing...
