    Deuce Starter Solenoid

I think you're talking about the starter relay, I'm talking about the solenoid that is mounted to the starter.

    Deuce Starter Solenoid

Has anyone ever disassembled the solenoid to see what makes it tick - or in my case not tick? Mine worked fine up till the last cold spell. I went out one snowy day with the grandson, pushed the button and nothing happened. I attributed it to a cold relay, waited for a warm spell then tried...

    Replacement winch cable

Well, EIPS 6x37 appears to be one option, not bad for cost - several markets, still 1/2", still fiber core, better bending radius, little stronger, lower twisting problems-usually easier lay. Still others- some stronger, some much more expensive. I'm still looking around and have read a lot of...

    Replacement winch cable

I guess I'm ready to let it drop, Improved Plow Steel is not the strongest wire rope available-6x19 is not the best for bending radius. As a matter of fact some wire ropes are stronger, more flexible, ( translate safer) and cheaper than many 6x19 suppliers offer. I did "look it up" but the TM...

    Replacement winch cable

Checked at Fastenall today, none of the choices had a load factor above 4600lbs. so thats a no go. The sales rep said he would make some calls to see what else they might be able to order. Also made a contact with a local logging supplier, he'll get back to me tomorrow.

    Replacement winch cable

Found this in an old post: Thank you Spicergear it's nice to know someone knows I'm not stupid besides me! TM for M35a2 says 9/16 cable dose fit. While I was in the Army. I was tout by my chief mechanic to use 210 ft. of cable, anchor the cable on a hill, and hook it into the winch. Then...

    Replacement winch cable

Safety is one of the reasons I asked in the first place. I took the OSHA crane inspection course years ago and am certainly cognizant of the dangers lurking about. I'm not looking for cheap, just options.

    Replacement winch cable

I guess I'll continue my research, I do have a Fastenall store I frequent locally. I have found 1/2 EIPS 6x25 which has a better bending radius and higher tensile strength, about 1.80/ft. I'll try to contact Coleman's to get specs on the 9/16". If it would happen to be 6x25 or 6x37 the larger...

    Replacement winch cable

Thanks for the guidance, Coleman’s did not have the tensile strength listed but I thought I might be able to track it down since the ID numbers are listed. I thought it might be worth a week-end trip since I'm sure I could find some other goodies there also. $190.00 for 300' didn't seem too...

    Replacement winch cable

Thanks, I read the specs, I'm wondering if anyone used this as a substitute. I've also read here on SS that some military mechanics replaced the 1/2 inch with 9/16 inch. Some say it spools fine but may reduce from max 220' to 210'. This product seems to be priced right and I wonder if anyone...

    Replacement winch cable

My deuce came without the winch cable and chain. Does anyone have any experience with this cable? I know it's a little heaver than stock but seems to be a pretty good price for 300'. Successful recovery Part II

I arrived at Dayton at 0900 to recover my "new" m105a2. Very cold and windy, snow blowing around making it worse. The crew there got me logged in, hooked up, and headed out in record time. A very quick walk a-round and back on the road. Looks good to me, only need to unstick the landing gear and...

    Successful Recovery

I had an appointment to pick up my "new" deuce this morning at Columbus DSCC. With my son along to provide the chase vehicle and tool box we headed out. Arrived about 0815, met Brandon who took me to the compound. I was a little concerned since it had been over 70 days since I last saw the truck...
