I'll have to disagree. From what I've learned, Alkyd enamel paint is some of the cheapest stuff out there. I'm told that it is basically an oil base paint. Some of the old timer painters swear by it, but when it comes to automotive paints there are better coating available. Acrylic Enamel is...
Hello all,
just thought I'd post some pictures showing all of you the lastest progress I've made on my Cargo cover project.
I've got most of the steel parts, but most of them need to be sanded and repainted. Here's a picture of them all installed to check for correct fit up:

I'd like to get a copy of the October 1976 version of the TB 43-0209
"COLOR, MARKING, AND CAMOUFLAGE PAINTING OF MILITARY VEHICLES, CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS HANDLING EQUIPMENT"
(Not the common Oct. 1990 version)
I don't suppose someone has an electronic copy of this that I can get...
Hello all,
I was reading up on the variants of the series recently and I saw a version I wasn't familiar with: The M881 had the separate 24 volt system similar to the M882, but without the radio set. So my question is, if the M881 doesn't have the radio equipment installed, then what was the...
Hi Bob,
Thanks for posting that picture. Check out this link for more info on the four color camo patterns:

You're probably thinking of the "Snow - temperate w/trees & shrubs" configuration. It has Forest Green, White, Sand, and Black. The "Winter...
Is that the "Winter US & Europe - verdant" four color camouflage pattern with 34079 forest green, 30118 Field drab, 30277 sand and 37038 black? Looks real good.
Hey Bob H,
you got any more side shots of your M882 you could post here? I'd like to get a better look at your "Winter US & Europe - verdant" camo pattern.
You know I was checking out some of those CUCV M1008's in their "Archives" section, and I have to say, I really like the 34094 "383" green. I like it a lot better than the 34079 that was originally used in the four color pattern on the M880's. When I redo the camo on my M880, I'm thinking of...
Hello Larry,
I'm a real mopar nut myself so I love these trucks for the same reason.
Here's a site that lists descriptions of the variants on the series:

Also check out this page for a free copy of the NATO three collor...
These were actual M880 troop seats ( I verified some part numbers.) I picked them up for $45.00 at a surplus place near here. They have a whole stack of them just rotting away out in the yard (not a high demand for these I guess.) The wood slats are all weather rotted, but they are still good...
Thanks! I really dig these Dodge's too.
Here's some picture's I took and then scanned in after I added the troop seats. Check it out:

Hello all,
just thought I'd post a picture of my M880 from a trail ride up in the mountains near here back in August. I was the only full size truck in a posse of jeeps!!

Thanks Bob, but I already have all of that already. I'm looking for the original four color pattern. Got the three color NATO pattern already. Thanks anyway.
Yes, Welcome to the site Bob.
You've got some good looking M880's series vehicles there. BTW, you don't happen to have a copy of the original M880 four color camouflage pattern do you? As I understand it, it's contained in the older...
Hey Bruiser,
I remember you were looking for some mirrors a little while ago. I don't know if you're still looking, but here's a pair on Ebay:
