Actually Dwayne, I haven't even bid yet! At that price I'm not sure I will. I'd like a proper trailer for the HEMTT, and even Jane likes it, but we don't NEED one. She won't drive the truck with a traiiler attached because she doesn't have a class A CDL. She will drive the truck now, as we...
Wow, I've never watched anything at GL before but the people who bid up here like their stuff. I understand about the "round things", replacements in the real world are expensive. I don't understand the trailers much, what use is a HEMTT specific trailer? I can't imagine a use for one, even a...
Nope, there was several inches of snow and slush and I was stupid enough to be wearing sneakers. I only walked around the M989A1's and the 16 tires that look like possible replacements for the ones on my truck.
I'm sure a Deuce would pull them just fine . . . empty, or not TOO loaded. They weight 10,850 empty and can carry 22,000 for a total of nearly 33,000. Actually, I'm thinking the HEMTT may need a power boost to the 550-600 hp range. Especially If I find a way for the trailer to...
2 group 31 Kirkland (Costco) marine batteries. I use one on my trailer too to run the 15,000 lb winch. They aren't the absolute best starting batteries but they crank the 12 liter Detroit with ease even after sitting a few months. Also I like them because they have 5/16 studs that work with...
I've used RORO ships to bring 4 Stalwarts to the US. They are also too big for a container. My last one cost me about $4000 from Southampton to the Port of Tacoma. The ships come in on a weekly schedule, at least they did 8-10 years ago.
One thing, they MUST be steam cleaned and have NO...
Yes Mike, they are HEMAT trailers for the MLRS rockets to be towed behind the M985 HEMTT that has the heavier crane than mine. Both the truck and trailer carry the rocket pods and reload the MLRS launcher/transporter. Purpose built trailer for the HEMTT :D
OK, my book has the part number as: 85570-06, it is the valve assembly for the M977 and M985 to control the rear mounted crane. I could probably use one (or more) as a spares depending upon price.
Thank you Scott!!!!! For both bits of information, I only showed up at the commercial gate last time and was towing the big red trailer. I was the only truck they didn't inspect . . . but they did grumble at me a bit. ;-)
Rather than start a new thread and I only wanted to ask people in THIS area, can I hijack this thread for a single question?
When visiting Joint Base Lewis-Mcchord, how do you get permission from GL to preview a item? The last time I went there I was at the DRMO and I had permission from them...
Looks like a control valve, both manual and electric, but the number isn't in any of my HEMTT manuals.
Now, if you had the NSN number I might be able to help further.
When you were in the service, YOU didn't have to pay for the batteries. You are correct you will get 12V if you tap only one battery, but it has a penalty. You will overcharge the battery that you don't tap and undercharge the battery that you do. This will in effect ruin BOTH batteries...
