Thanks Matt, Could you please post the PRO series model # of the hitch and where you bought it
if on line. I am assuming it is a class 3 or 4 hitch.
It would be great if I didn't have to R & R the bumper.
The person who recomended the other hitch, said he had to do some grinding to get it to...
I need to instal a Curt 14082 class v hitch, and my understanding is
that if you first remove the rear bumper, it will go on without any mods.
I don't want to start hacking up anything on my M1008 that would compromise
the structure of my pintle hook, since I tow mil trailers as well.
I am...
Welcome from the Left Coast.... Are you sure you know what you are doing? You do realize
that most of the guys on here are certifiable and once you start there is no going back.
It is a lot of fun though:cookoo:

Thanks! That is exactly what I wanted to know. Do you think I should switch to the steel core, or stay with the fiber core. For periods of time this will get heavy use but light loads.
Yes I probably should have started another thread, but the responses to this thread were
so close to what I...
What is the cable spec that I should look for to replace the cable on my
M108 Austin Weston crane mounted on an XM211 truck? I know it is 1/2 inch
cable, but would like to get a more specific spec to look for. I am on the
Left coast so shipping is out of the question. I just want to be armed...
There are cheaper inspection scopes, not perfect,
but should be good enough for things like this.
I just bought this thing from a friend of mine a
while back and tested it the other day.
Nothing to write home about, but it seems to work ok.
I'll attach the pdf of the manual to this post.
good...
TM 9-2320-211-34-2-4 19-30 aprox page 209 adobe page counter
There are multiple drawings giving the entire installation procedure.
You will note that the windshield is down. Don't even think about doing this
if you have a hard top. The support cable would have to go right through it...
Thank you very much! Luckily I have two NOS 'U' shaped channels on the way. Both
sides and bottom is all one piece. At least for the 5 ton. On the XM211 I have a used
frame with the glass broken out that I need to overhaul and clean up.
Bruce
Hi DSD277, I just want to see if I got this right and not screw it up.
1-Do you bend the cork tape over the edge of the glass and mask it in place
and then coat the exposed sides of the cork tape with oil, or do you coat both sides
of the cork tape with oil before bending it over the glass and...
Hi All, I have the glass and am getting new bottom channels soon for
the M54A2. I have a used good frame for the XM211.
After cleaning and painting the parts I need to know what type of seal
to get and where, or type of goop etc. along with any tips on how to do this
without screwing it up...
Does anyone remember driving in Saigon back in the 60's?
Remember the motorcycles with the bus seat welded to the front with a bar for a footrest
and wide open space in front of you. That was the last time I jumped in the front of one of those and waved a 20 dollar bill at the driver and asked...
The primary purpose of this is to give some one local that is a member
of Steel Soldiers a shot at the job since we are all in hard times nowadays.
The job is a simple recovery and will most likely require a tilt back flat
tow truck.
I need to recover an old F250 from a mountain dirt road in...
Does anyone drill a hole in the low point of the stack so that the water drains out?
This may not work on all types, but I was told it might work on mine which is an
M54A2. ie the one in my avatar.
Bruce
What is the best way to replace the exhaust pipes?
Try to find NOS replacement?
Take it to a truck type exhaust shop and have them fabricate one?
I don't have a lot of money, but I want it to last a long time considering
it only gets minimum usage.
Right now there are holes in the bottom big...
I discovered that of the two frame extensions I have for my M54A2,
one of them is slightle bent and I would like to straighten it before
deploying it. Does any one have any tips on how to do this?
I figure I can probably find someone with a heavy duty press, but are
there any precautions, heat...
