    Carrier Assembly Getting Hot

UM . . . ER . . . NO! 500 degrees would coke the oil and make it smoke, they don't run that hot or the oil would burn. The flash point of gear oil ranges from 375-580 and you'd be loosing oil due to evaporation.

    Carrier Assembly Getting Hot

It doesn't take 200-250 to give the apperance of steam, 150 degrees will do it if the atmospheric conditions are right. Use the IR thermometer to verify. If you had actual audible sizzling then I'd be concerned. 3rd members do run hot, often simply the shearing action between the ring and...

    T55AM2 New arrival!

And if HTS 8710.00.00 is still in effect, there is no duty on "Tanks and other fighting vehicles and parts." All good info, especially the Dept. of Ag. inspection, they are a pain in the butt! Paying for a completely thorough steam cleaning is much cheaper at the shipping end than at the Port...

    Flying Heritage Tankfest 2011

It should be a fun event, especially if they find room for me get into 6th or 7th gear! :jumpin:

    Hemtt Camper...

The one with the grey interior is mine but it was not complete when I bought it. We have spent the vast majority of the money needed to finish it but we have a few hundred hours (minimum) of labor to complete the project. I still also have an engine doghouse to reproduce as well. I bought it...

    Hemtt Camper...

I see, spend LOTS of money for 1 perhaps 2 mpg, how many miles would you have to drive it to replace a perfectly good running Detroit with a used engine. If you put in a new one, you'd NEVER get your money back. Thats not to mention adding a 13 speed in the rear of the truck, like 25' long...

    Hemtt Camper...

Why get rid of the Detroit? With a little soundproofing in the back of the cab my HEMTT is quiet inside! Roll up the windows and there is no need to to talk above normal conversation that you'd use in a modern Diesel pickup. Cummins are not any quieter, they just make sound at a lower...

    Hydrogen Generator

:funny: This whole HHO scheme is to separate the gullible and least informed persons from their hard earned money, nothing more.

    Ferret pulling a trailer

Flat ground and no load in the trailer, fine. But in any case, NEVER let the engine operate below about 2800 rpm to avoid torque converter (fluid flywheel) heat as it isn't externally cooled. Many a Ferret have had serious problems from not keeping the RPM's up and smoking the torque converter.

Pros and cons of Battery Equalizer / Dual alternator

The equalizer never has to be rated for the full load of an intermittent draw, just has to cover the constant current draws. I agree, a 12V starter will handle 24V just fine IF you don't let it crank too long or crank with low batteries. I too got a 100A one for $100 and it is even the new type.

    Camp Delta/Tower Park April

Heck, I drove 830 miles each way getting 9.2 mpg and it was well worth our money and time, it was a fun event! It also gave me an excuse to drive down to LA (and extra 800+ total) and pick up a Whisperwatt generator.

    Camp Delta/Tower Park April

Looking forward to it, the wife decided not to bring her Fox this year and the Scorpion is just a little too heavy to tow that far with the mountain passes between here and Lodi. Please keep the rain away this year, my ATV still has some mud from last year!

    Hydrogen Generator

Age, I guess you didn't read the part of the pages posted earlier that adding the gas confuses the computer and makes it try for a 20:1 A/F ratio (WAY TOO lean) and gives a false reading on actual fuel consumption reading by said computer. Using it as a primary fuel obtained from a cheap power...

    Hydrogen Generator

By fiddling in your garage you aren't gonna stumble upon some magical solution, those times are past. The fact is, YES we can determine that something WONT EFFING WORK, if it violates some basic laws. We don't need to test it, it has been tested, it WON'T do anything but lighten your wallet...
