The weather isn't an issue with the M109, but sadly it looks like I'm not going to have it running so I'll be coming out in a car. This means I'll be there Friday if it isn't raining or Saturday and will probably just stay for the day to do a little cleanup.
I didn't wash mine, still trying to get it running. If I can't get it going, then I'll be out there sometime on Friday in my car (really slumming it compared to the M109).
Welcome. Like hole said, bring your MV out to Camp Dirtbag this weekend, or if you don't have one yet come out and check out a bunch of MV's that are owned by others. Never know what you will see there.
Is it a generator or alternator? I had the generator on mine sieze and I'm switching to a 70A alternator. This bypasses the regulator as the alt is internally regulated, but I also needed to buy the 60 Amp Conversion Kit since I'm going from generator to alternator.
Big weight savings and...
No Class B required for any housecar (motorhome) under 40ft in length. That's how I have my M109 registered and can drive it anywhere, anytime with no restrictions.
Wonder what the insurance on such a venture would be?
Nothing like putting 13,000 lbs of rolling steel in the hands of someone unfamiliar with it. But since you technically need a Class B license, I guess they should be covered.
Yes, I saw the link, I also saw

You need a battery equalizer or a converter. Pulling power from one battery will screw up your system and you will have issues. Search for info on equalizers or converters
Alternator is installed, but still waiting on the cables (60A Conversion Kit) before I can hook anything up and know where I stand. Have the kit ordered from 2 places but TNJ Murray seems to not respond to emails or voice messages so I don't think they have even sent it at this point, the other...
You can get a 24V to 12V converter cheap off ebay. Never a good idea to pull power off one battery. Even with the switch to turn it off, you'll still unballance the system when you have it on.
