I've always wanted one since I was a kid. I think the A2 with its' 10 wheels just looks cool.
After I retired I bought one instead of a red 'vette or 22 yr old blonde.
I joined a military vehicle club and we participate in parades and put on static displays to raise funds for veterans causes...
5198- if the item on the firewall is silver (mine is) it is the safety cut-off switch. Don't mess with it. The regulator is black and usually mounted on the frame behind the left front wheel. You can get rid of that- its not needed.
Ha! I think I remember an earlier post from you about that.
The steel plate sounds like a good idea.
Actually I had forgotten about the off-road hazards, but don't do much out here anyway.
That's weird- dont know what happened here, but since about November we have had numerous UFO sightings.
Go to YouTube and search "UFO Gilbert". ( Gilbert, Az)
Were you using dark colors like 24087? It seems the lighter colors are not problematic but all the colorant in the dark colors extends the drying time. A few monts ago I painted a boarding ladder with the Behr using a poor match to the 24087 and it stayed tacky for about 2 months.
Well, it's been almost two weeks and my painted parts are still as tacky as they were when I wrote my last post.
So, I abandoned the latex paint and switched to Gillespie from Rapco. It sprays on great and is dry by the next day.
I replaced mine a few months ago, buying one from a SS member. They can be hard to find, keep checking the "parts for sale" classifieds.
If you can't find one another SS member bought a slightly smaller core at Autozone. He filled the gaps around the core with weatherstripping or spray foam-...
Glad it worked out for you. I thought about doing that but couldn't figure out how to remove & replace the wire where it enters the plug on the pump.
Somehow that needs to be "fuel proof ".
Sticky paint question: I had some Olympic exterior latex paint mixed at Lowes (HD could not color match OD semi-gloss!) to paint my deuce.
Two days ago I painted some small parts I had removed from the truck. Although they were inside a warm garage, they are still "sticky".
No paint...
