Don't know about other states, but in Colorado a sale to a minor is not a binding contract. Must be 18 or older to make the deal stick. Not to say a 16 year old can't buy a vehicle on his own, but under 18's can buy it, drive it home and trash it or what ever and then demand their money returned...
I had a chance for up close looks at two Gama Goats yesterday and yes, there are lots of similarities between the Goat and our XM791's. Same blackout light set up, same kinds of drums and so on.
Today I went to the farm to photograph the MP sign found in the cab of one of the trucks. It's hard...
I think some of these M37/M43 engine cooling arrangements were very efficient. I do recall a winter that was particularly cold here in Colorado and I never could get heat out of my system sufficient to run a engine coolant cab heater. I usually placed a sheet of news paper over the radiator...
I have never had a chance for a real close look at a Gama Goat, but one of my fellow club members told me the Goat also had a tubeless snap ring wheel set up. I do know Goat wheels are 18 inch as opposed to 20 inch on the XM791. There is a bueatfully restored Goat in our club, but so far I have...
Cranetruck,
Is that a sealed brake drum below the glove box? Even though the cabs were filled with stuff, the glove boxes were empty. Jollyroger found a circular plaque that read "Military Police" around the outside edge and then had something like "EH PH" "CLLO" in the center (no photo...
That makes sense. The stencil runs on to the finger pocket behind the door handle and it looks like what ever the rest of SM was it did not get painted. That 3rd line about 25 MPH is pretty well gone as well.
Photo of the passenger door stencil. Imagine 50 MPH on the Autobahan. I have been there, white knuckled, at 118 in a Chrysler mini van. I can only wonder about the mix of a 50 mph 8x8 with some of the grocery getters that shot by us at 118. DRIVER WILL NOT SWim?
Global Warming (OOPS, Climate Change) arguments make more sense than some of this. 20 years as a forensic chemist for the Federal Government has given me the ability to comprehend the complex language of the CFR as well as ASTM, SAE and their books of methods. The various uses entertained in...
Got todays photos downloaded so I can upload them. Both cabs are unbolted on the drivers side and blocked up. It looks like an effort to access the steering linkage which they screwed up anyway with a forklift. Engine covers are loose and popped up. Found a couple of boots in the cab one of...
Jollyroger, Ghostrider and I have spent the day looking our purchases over and unloading. The windshields do not necessarily match the bodies due to one having some camo paint on a truck that is not camo etc. However, painted on the windshields are the names of people whom we assume were...
Kodak camera yes! And that is the first time that has happened in more than two years of use. The camera is pink in a pink carring case which gets me all sorts of ribbing in MVCC. That could be the topic of a thread in and of itself. The last 5 or so photos were taken just after the sale earlier...
We got them back to the farm, but we have yet to "unload". Looking over our photos I find we did not take any that show the flat tow setup from the side. I will do that today when I unload the trailer and recover my truck. Ya gotta love those military tow bars.!
Let me start by thanking "Cranetruck" for putting up with all my PM questions and all the helpful information he provided.
Jollyroger and I spent the entire yesterday recovering a couple of XM791's we bought at an auction close to home. As noted on the windshields, these were "Not Running"...
I finally asked my brother-in-law (Moosetracks) for some of his photos of the boom on the front of his M37. Since I built the boom I moved to the farm and now have ready access to tractors and skid steers that I can lift with. Moosetracks uses the boom to move logs to cut for firewood as I did...
It took me long enough to figure out what ATEC and AMC stood for. The YPG was pretty straight forward and it seems while with Harry Diamond Labs there may have been nothing on the bumper other than the 019 number since Harry Diamond was plastered on the top of the van body. I have not replaced...
Going into more detail about my experience with my M37 and its after market engine coolant cab heater, I will say that I went from 160 to 180 and then to 195 T-stats trying to get enough heat out of the cab heater. After that I discovered two things. One was that the cab heater was plumbed from...
