What you mite look at first, are your pump and injectors run at 100% and your fuel lines. Then what is most important to Power or MPG's. I know with my dodge when increasing the power improved the MPG's. Diesels are just big air pumps, more air and fuel more power. But you need to get the air...
You could probly rebuild the pump but a injection shop would need to caliberate it. They may charge 3-4 hundred just to cal the pump. You can buy one rebuilt for arond 500.00 or less just look around.

Mine looks like that but on he drivers side. Have not started the repair on it yet. Have fixed the dents in the doors. Need to get a tail gate also but money is tite right...
