Just won Hyster E40XL-MIL on GL

The other valve that not doing anything is for another hyd function that your forklift doesn't have. Some forklift attachments require another valve and that's what it's for (fork positioners, clamp, etc).

IronPlanet.com Selling Military Rolling Stock SOON!

They guarantee the inspections and will make it right if the inspection is found wrong. I for one am not real happy with the changeover. I think prices are bound to go up and you will see more of a retail market. Sure, GL is a pain to work with and their listing are often wrong but that tended...

    2740lbs in an M101A2

Just don't try to dump it with that much weight in it. They really shouldn't be dumped at all but especially not overloaded.

    M35a2 AIR BRAKES ...... YEEEEEP!

I would love to see the regulation that says a air dryer or methanol injector is required. There are thousands of civilian trucks on the road than never came with either system from the factory. I've personally got a 1983 Freightliner that doesn't have a dryer or injector and has been federally...

Deuce and 939 series size difference

Just a little info to avoid confusion, it's actually M939 series and not 900 series. When you say 900 series it could get confused with trucks like a M915 which is a completely different animal than a M939 series.

Deuce and 939 series size difference

If you ever see both side by side (I'm sure there is a pic around here somewhere) the size difference is very noticeable. Comparing a deuce to a 5-ton is like comparing a Chevy s-10 to a Chevy K-30 dually. If it would physically fit you could put a loaded deuce in the bed of a m939 truck and it...

    M35a2 AIR BRAKES ...... YEEEEEP!

Gimpy, there probably are some specs somewhere on what is required when building a system but I'd have no idea where to find it. You could get a rough estimate by calculating the chamber volume but it would be a rough estimate at best. The volume of air is going to change depending on how hard...

    M35a2 AIR BRAKES ...... YEEEEEP!

While a air drier would be nice, it's not a necessity. There are plenty of air brake trucks on the road without air dryers and they do just fine (you just have to drain your tanks every day). I also think you could probably get by ok with the stock air compressor. Only testing of the system...

    M35a2 AIR BRAKES ...... YEEEEEP!

Air brakes are miles ahead of the stock air-assisted hyd system. The main thing is no more brake fluid leaks. You can still have air leaks but it's not as messy as fluid leaks and you're not as likely to run out of air because the compressor is always making more. Adjustment is much easier for...

Running power tools off the slave port?

I think Kenny (Recovery4X4) made a deal one time where you could plug the slave cable directly into a Dewalt battery slot. On the cord vs cordless debate I see it as a trade-off. Corded tools do have more power and longer life but you're encumbered by the cord. Cordless tools give you the...

Just won Hyster E40XL-MIL on GL

Sometimes you can't bring the battery back. In that case it's probably a parts machine or scrap because those batteries cost a fortune. If you need a charger I think I've got one (depending on voltage). If you decide to scrap I think the battery will bring close to $400 in scrap so you need to...

    Air-O-Matic adjustment

I concur with Peashooter. On my truck the air assist did take some getting used to. Seeing as how the drag link sensor has to move in and out a little to work, it does add some slack in the steering system. Add that to what Peashooter is talking about and it's going to act a little weird...

    M35a2 AIR BRAKES ...... YEEEEEP!

The front is going to be a little more tricky than the rear.

    welder choice...

If I have a small field repair to make, most of the time I'll grab small oxy-acetylene setup and head out. If it's a small job it's easier than dragging the portable stick machine out and I can also do cutting or heating if needed.

    M149 water buffalo

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the top pic is the stainless tank and the bottom pic is the aluminum tank.

Need help getting an item I purchased from a member or else a refund.

Ok that's it, thread closed. I haven't contacted to OP as I'm almost sure Warthog already has. Even if he hasn't, the OP still needs to contact a mod about the details of this situation if he wants our help. If anybody thinks they've gotten a raw deal, they should contact a mod instead of...

Working on motor, motor stopped turning!

Looks like you've found a scope that will fit but I wonder if you could also remove the intake and go beside a open valve to get a scope in?

New owner with a few questions :)

Yes, gasser deuces have a smaller instrument cluster. There is a very good possibility that the frame number is on the passenger side and start with the letter "M". A lot of the older gassers had the number on the passenger side.

Warthog is right, contact a moderator about your problem. We try our best to rectify these situations.

    M149 water buffalo

I wouldn't be too worried about it if it was a stainless tank with a good cleaning and using it for drinking water. With a fiberglass tank, I don't know. My stainless M149 was used to store waste oil by the forestry dept before I got it. I cleaned it really good and have drunk out of it without...
