    don't get so down yet. I have replaced the harness in a cucv already (not my fault) It's not that bad of a job. It is just a matter of getting the parts which should be too bad from a junkyard. I would not scrap a goodn engine. trans, transfer case, rear, and body because of a harness.

    I drove it home about 60 miles or so. It drives better then the other 5 tons i have driven. I think it is because of the weight of it.

    non turbo ,low on power?

    I had a non turbo duece. there wasn't too much of a difference in power. The biggest thing was the trail of black smoke from the exhaust. The M109's I have seem to have more power then the cargo varients. Or at least they are faster on the road.

    M101A1 New Guy needs wiring adaptor / converter

    I got a set of magnetic towing lights to get it home. Once at home I put 12 volt bulbs in the light and i got the trailer plug off of a military truck and wired that to a 4 pole plug. I left the trailer intacted incase i either sell it ot pull it wil a military vehicle.

    Jim, I measured the M809 series drag link, it is 27 7/8" long. the M52 is 28 3 /4 " long. I don't know if that will matter or not. I am still planning on friday's trip.
