don't get so down yet. I have replaced the harness in a cucv already (not my fault) It's not that bad of a job. It is just a matter of getting the parts which should be too bad from a junkyard. I would not scrap a goodn engine. trans, transfer case, rear, and body because of a harness.

would this work for a 109 van body? It might be a task of finding the right tree.

I drove it home about 60 miles or so. It drives better then the other 5 tons i have driven. I think it is because of the weight of it.

I got the proper drag link for it and a good bumper. So i am going to try and post some pics of it now.

I had a non turbo duece. there wasn't too much of a difference in power. The biggest thing was the trail of black smoke from the exhaust. The M109's I have seem to have more power then the cargo varients. Or at least they are faster on the road.

how did the sale turn out? Do you know what the tractor and the dump went for? how about eh air compressors? IT looks like the tractor had a wrecker on it.

Are the bumpers between the M39, M809 and M939 the same bumpers? I need a front bumper for a M809 series truck and I am trying to find out what else will fit. Does anyone have a 5 ton bumper close to PA for sale?

I got a set of magnetic towing lights to get it home. Once at home I put 12 volt bulbs in the light and i got the trailer plug off of a military truck and wired that to a 4 pole plug. I left the trailer intacted incase i either sell it ot pull it wil a military vehicle.

My question is does 7/8" matter in a drag link length.

Jim, I measured the M809 series drag link, it is 27 7/8" long. the M52 is 28 3 /4 " long. I don't know if that will matter or not. I am still planning on friday's trip.

I am still on the hunt for a drag link. does anyone know if a drag link from a M39 series truck will fit and work on an M809 series truck?
