Do you mean the injector line from the injector pump to the injector? My understanding is that those are not just 'tubes'. I'm not sure they can just be fabricated out of brake line, etc. I believe they are sized for length, etc, for proper fuel delivery timing, as well as having a special...
Personally, I'd replace it with the proper 24v starter.
Now, I have not tried this, but I don't see why one couldn't move the battery wire to the starter from the 24v buss to the front battery, and then bypass the starter relay under the dash so 12v from the ignition switch goes directly to the...
What effect does the 'tach buffer' module that is under the dash have on the signal? I believe the wire from GEN 1 goes through this module before it goes to the diagnostic plug, but I could be mistaken...
LMC, and others, sell a headlight harness that uses relays to provide the power to the headlights directly from the battery, thus taking the load off the headlight fuse and circuit. You can also make one yourself.
You mentioned a radio. A radio is not part of that circuit, so it must have been added later. Does the radio have a station memory, or a clock? Then it might require power all the time, and could be the source of your load that is producing the spark. Having said that, the lighting circuit on...
By the way, unless it is under load - ie the glow plugs are 'on', you will always read 24v at the input side of the glow plug relay - in a stock system.
I prefer solid calipers with pistons on both sides so the caliper hanging up on the slides isn't an issue. Never said they didn't work, just feel there is a better way.
From the voltage readings, I'd say Gen 1 is bad. Pull it and have it tested, or swap it with GEN 2, assuming they are both still isolated-ground alternators...
I know the parts are the same... I am curious as to whether the TMs have different height measurements for the beam adjustment than a civi manual would. That was the intent of my question, as I'd heard, albeit from one questionable source, that the aim was adjusted lower for military use.
On a...
When I picked up my M1009 from the auction, another buyer was picking up his. He said that he had bought several CUCVs over the years, and found that the military has the lights adjusted very low. At the time, I assumed he thought that due to broken up/down adjusters, which mine were broken. Now...
Fuel running down the drain from the intake valley can look like an oil leak by the time it comes out at the bottom of the bellhousing, as it washes dirt, etc down with it.
Is your CDR valve functioning correctly? If not, over-pressure in the crankcase can lead to rear main seal leaks. Secondly, are you sure it is the seal that is leaking? Often a small fuel leak up in the intake valley can run out the drain hole at the bottom of the bell housing and look like an...
If your are talking about that little rubber piece that goes between the valve on the IP and the vacuum lines, it is NLA. It is also not needed, just connect the lines directly to the valve, and remember Top to Transmission...
