Please pardon my lack of knowledge on this but I can take the code "34094" and have that paint mixed up ?
Is this a Home Depot thing that I have been reading about ?
Within the next few months I am going to be giving my new to me 1988 M998 a repaint and I have been going over all the threads I can find on here as the best way to approach what seems like a fairly straight forward job. I have decided to NOT go the camo route as every job I have seen doesn't...
I have already swapped out the "stock" tail lights for LED units. What I am looking for is to get something mounted up high (say above where the doors close on the truck above) that doesn't look hokey or just bolted on. And yes, you are right that any light can be wired to act as a brake light.
In process of having a solid back "curtain" or wall made up for my 1988 M998 and am thinking about third brake light options.
The more brake lights the truck has will greatly help my chances of Chicago drivers not ending up underneath the back of my truck while they are texting.
I def. want to...
Off topic question I know but would anyone know what paint brand / code / color the above would be ? Looking to paint my Humvee and the above is the perfect look/color/finish I am going for.
My 2 cents..
I bought a solid / good running truck I could afford, and now am in the process of sourcing parts to make it exactly how I want.
Bought a M998 4 man soft top, and slowly turning into a 4 man hardtop with X doors.
So, buy a solid base and take some time making it into what you want..
I went to high school with Tony Schumacher of NHRA Top Fuel drag racing fame (fun fact).
Question on the on-board charger: Do you wire it to just one of the two batteries, do you split it to both, do you run two chargers (one per battery) ?
Or do I go with a "two bank" unit which looks to...
Question:
My new to me 1988 M998 is currently under the knife at my buddies shop and I am going over the thing front to back and replacing / upgrading everything I can to insure years of trouble free / not having to be on the side of the road humming. So, when it comes to batteries what is the...
Also don't forget the safety factor with LED's, as they come on faster then a standard bulb and are much more vibration resistant.
Faster reaction time from you pressing the brake pedal till the light actually turns on is huge to let people know you are stopping, especially in trucks as large as...
I was going to go the same route as you but never was sold on the look / functionality of the doors themselves as said above. After a week or so I came across a set of factory X doors and
am much happier with them over whatever the aftermarket has to offer.
As far as I am aware , No.
I am in process of doing the same thing to my truck and after looking into it alittle more u have two choices.
1. Wire up the lights to a switch, and flip on when u are backing up
2. (better idea) Do what I did and source a switch from a Humvee ambulance as they had...
