CUCV M1009 Missing Part - question

May I ask why you want it? Many people just bypass it and resupply the GP relay with 12v from either the front battery or the 12 buss bar next to the brake master cylinder. This helps prevent GP failure from over-voltage.

Where should I mount my glow plug circuit board?

You won't find the GP controller at any civilian-market auto parts stores as far as I know. I would check the classifieds here on SS for used or NOS controllers. There are also two members here who make brand new controllers that are supposed to be better quality parts, etc. I have not used one...

My new ignition switch has an accessory stop but...

What Warthog and Abbylind said... The glow plug relay, or even the under-dash starter relay are good examples of what I meant, except instead of the relay supplying power to the GPs or starter, it would supply power to a new fuse block that you would wire your accessories to. Thank you Warthog...

My new ignition switch has an accessory stop but...

What about combining the fuse tap with an accessory relay? Power the accessory relay from the fuse tap in the wiper fuse slot. Power an accessory fuse block from the accessory relay. Pull the switched feed of the accessory relay from the 12v buss under the hood, or directly from the front...

    M1009 Starter system

Is the doghead relay engaging each time when this happens? You can hear it? I'm asking because I didn't see any mention of checking either the ignition switch linkage or the actual electrical portion of the ignition switch. Perhaps it is sticking on sometimes, causing the runaway condition. I...

My new ignition switch has an accessory stop but...

Mine does turn backwards to the ACC position, don't know if there are active circuits when it is in that position though. I have new locks for it, but it is still on the original locks with the original military key.

Where should I mount my glow plug circuit board?

There are some pictures here somewhere of the mounting, but it should be attached to the metal brace / support above the steering column.

Doghead relay mod not needed after July 1985 production

I believe that is operating normally. Mine is the same way, with both GEN lights, though usually the GEN2 light goes out before the GEN1 light. Both go out after giving it some fuel. This is even part of the procedure in the TM's, as I recall.

Injector Pump stud nuts...How in the world...

Put the tiny girlfriend to work! She probably has the dexterity to do it! :-D

My new ignition switch has an accessory stop but...

Did you try pushing the switch "in" and then turn counter-clockwise? That is the way it works on mine, though I don't have anything powered by it at this time.

How to know if my 6.2l is running as it should

Well, all I got done last week was changing the CDR valve. Finished that and then took it for a drive to pick up my son from school. My son then puked all over the front seat and floor. Did I install the CDR valve wrong, or is it just defective? :)

How to know if my 6.2l is running as it should

Thanks to all for the responses. I had read others saying they could spin the tires, but I don't think mine will do that at this time. I looked for the witness marks on the IP, but can't see them, even after cleaning the area. Are there any pictures showing what they usually look like? I mean...

How do I use this tool...?...LOL.

Sorry, don't know about the tool... But you should take your girlfriend out for a nice dinner when you get it all done. She's a keeper!

How to know if my 6.2l is running as it should

Is my 6.2l running as it should? I'm new to diesels, and have owned my M1009 for almost 3 months now. Other than one issue with the GP relay, it has always started and driven fine. My question, which may be me just worrying / wondering for no reason, comes from not really knowing how it...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1
