What do you mean it won't be ready? I thought we did everything but wash and wax it last weekend.:-P
Will you have that Saturday off? I am sure that there is a spare rig around here that you could drive, but that would mean more lights and maybe another converter or small generator for the...
Filled out the application for this one today, under the title of "Friends of Kilroy" - Steel Soldiers. Anyone going to turn out.
So far I have two WW2 jeeps and 2 - 5 tons. Our local NG unit has turned out with 2 or 3 trucks the last couple of years as well. Line up about 1630 and parade at...
Decide what you want in a truck and the options it should have, wait and watch. Do you mind a 10 wheeler or do you need single 6's, do you want CTIS? Winch ? Hardtop or soft? Desert or Woodland? Troops seats, bows, and canvas. It is usually more cost effective to find one that has the...
So what you are saying is that a glad hand and 1/2 inch hose will power the 1" impact gun, enough to take the lug nuts off?
One theory I have heard is to have a separate air tank, filled off your glad hand and then run a one inch hose off the separate tank and that will do it. I have the one...
as for the trailers, first and most plentiful are the 1 1/2 ton M105 trailers, then you have the ammo trailer, various generator trailers, and a few of the Hemmet style cargo trailers have been coming through Ft. Lewis. Wrecker Ray has one and thinks it tows just great, but you need some...
ps, the trailer has one wooden side rack, but I noticed that Brad had some fiberglass racks in his pile. Maybe need to do another trip out there. He hooked me up with a fiberglass cab guard for the 5 T. My truck has fiberglass for the troop seats but had a wooden head rack. Just need a day...
manders, it won't work with the 5 tons. Am thinking of getting the ambulance set up to tow it. Although they didn't want them towing anything. Also thinking about getting an adapter made for the 5 T so I can tow some of the smaller stuff like a trailer or jeep.
here are a couple of pictures of my new toy. Not sure what I will use it for, but it is in decent shape. It is interesting in that it has an M116A3 frame and M101A2 body tub. It towed great and fits the Dodge very well.
He has a 923A1 and I have the 923. Think my truck has 4,000 mi. since rebuild. So I have new tires, Goodyears g177 and a new engine too. We took them to the Elma Vets parade last week.
Not me, but the 1st Sgt. Brad helped us change the tires. I am glad we did it there. It is amazing the amount of stuff he knows about these trucks. Would be fun to go south and haul a load or two of stuff back for him.
SR, saw your new toy out at Brad's today. Neat looking rig. Will look forward to the crew cab.. Went out with the 1st Sgt. to change a couple of tires over.
Helped a friend change a couple tires on his M923A1 out at Brad's. He had a couple of Michelin's on it and needed Goodyears to match the others. Also adjusted his right mirror braces that were improperly installed. The bracket tilted back towards the back of the truck, so much that the mirror...
We had two vehicles for this one an M923 and M923A1. sorry for the short notice. Someone called in and I missed it, sorry for the miscommunication. The event went well and we brought up the rear of the parade. I got to meet one of the last USS Arizona survivors and 2 - WW2 Navy nurses. One of...
We had 3 vehicles turn out and go in our unit. Storm's M37, Mike E. M151, and Kirk S. M38A1. A couple others had to bow out for work and maintenance issues. Thanks for those that were able to be there this time. The weather turned out great. some said it was a little cool, but I was in WW1 gear...
Manders, that is tough luck. We missed you for big brother back up. We ended the day with an M37, M151, and M38A1. While the numbers weren't big, the rigs looked great. The weather was cooperative and it was an overall nice day. I maybe had devine intervention as i was walking with the WW1...
If anyone would like to attend this event, they have a memorial service at 1100 and a parade at 1300. The 1st Sgt and I will be meeting up at exit 88 off I-5 at 0830 for breakfast at the Little Red Barn restaurant and then heading over to participate. Meet us at the restaurant or over in Elma...
Anyone interested in participating in the Lighted Tractor parade this year? They do want Military Vehicles participating. You do need to light your vehicle up with Christmas lights. If you want to attend, I will take care of the registration for our unit. last year we had 3 vehicles from the...
T minus 11 hours and counting. don't worry if you didn't check in, just show up. Looks like we will be getting a break in the weather. See you in the morning. Peter
