    PNW Info Thread!

Like the Chaplain said, take a look at Historic vehicle insurance or collector vehicle. My vehicles have been insured through one of the major collector vehicle companies for several years at a reasonable rate. Fortunately haven't had to use them, but they are there just in case.

    PNW Info Thread!

I have a 1984 M923 and am diligently waiting till January to go have a serious talk with the licensing folks. Will be shooting for a collector plate at that time. I am trying to be patient and work on some minor details with the truck, until that time. I deal with a small license place her in...

    PNW Info Thread!

If you have an M923A2, what is the year of manufacture? Probably about 1990? In 2020 if the rules don't change, you will be able to register it as a collector vehicle. It is a 30 year wait, with certain restrictions. I have registered 6 or 7 MV's this way over the years. Until then you are...

    PNW Info Thread!

Would like to talk with you about the cab guard and the 2 small side pieces. I have a 923 with an earlier wooden cab guard. PM me please. Also where does it say they won't license a vehicle newer than 1983 as historic? I thought the rule was 30 years old, which would put the 83 in this year...

    MRAP for Sale ?

There was one that went on GL a little while back. It was a trainer MRAP base on an M923 frame. the bid price was 99,500. So maybe someone picked up a cheaper one. Or they went to Afghanistan and bought some of the ones they are cutting up for scrap.

Auburn WA Veterans Day Parade Nov. 9, 2013

Will do. They usually send out form up location a week or two before the event, so I will need a count of vehicles so they can determine space requirements. Will keep it posted. P

    M54 Bows

Are you trying to make some? They are the same as the M35 top bows if you are looking at some to buy. If you have some bows and they seem to be too narrow, they are probably for a 1 1/2 ton trailer. I put an LMTV cargo cover on my M54 and raised the verticals 8" to accomodate that cover.

2013 USS Torsk work weekend in Baltimore MD - seeking volunteers!

If you could pull it out to Bremerton Naval Shipyard, I am sure we could turn a pretty good crew loose on it out this way. Sorry it is out of my normal commuting range. I got to tour that boat a few years ago and was fortunate enough to follow along with father, son, and grandson. Grandfather...

Tacoma WA, Aug. 24, 2013 - Military Appreciation Parade

This event went well for being the first one they have had in 50 years. There was a good turnout from our MV folks and the current military had a great presence as well. Here are a few pics of the day. Mission accomplished.

Military Family Appreciation Day - Sept. 7, 2013 Cabela's Lacey, WA

This one is on in the morning. Try to be there no later than 0900. Parking will be an issue, but I will try to save a couple spots for late comers or walk ons. We will be sharing the field with a Stryker or two and probably a HMMV as well. So far we have 2 WW2 jeeps, M170, CCKW, M151, and an...

Tacoma WA, Aug. 24, 2013 - Military Appreciation Parade

Sorry we missed on this one. It was a good event for their first time in about 50 years. There was good participation by current military units in this one as well. I think they were optimistic on their crowd turnout numbers, but I didn't really see any advertising on the event except for...
