Sagging tire, can it be saved?

Guys, I searched for this but couldn't find anything... I have a 9.00-20 wheel and tire that came off the spare tire carrier of a six-ton shop trailer. The tire has lots of tread left and no weathering or sun damage that I can see, but it is deformed from hanging at zero PSI on the spare tire...

Camp Dirtbag IV in So Cal

I hear that Anza Borrego in on the list of parks Arnold wants to close to save money. If that really does happen, we'll have to come up with Plan B.

Should I buy this? 1956 deuce

You had me until you used the word "bob". Please consider cutting up something with less historical value. Then again, it's your money...

Camp Dirtbag IV in So Cal

Some of the LA guys get together with the San Diego guys in Anza Borrego in October. This trip has been going on for many years. We do a little parade in Borrego Springs and then spend the rest of the weekend off roading. You have to be street legal in the park, but there are many cool areas to...

    Another Mighty Mite

You're right, it's the too round part that is a bigger problem. I'm not there yet:-D

    Another Mighty Mite

Mighty Mites are great - just don't be too tall or too round or you won't fit behind the wheel. My dad has had his M422 (not an A1) since 1974.

    M38A1 Overheats!

There could be one more sinister cause - a cracked block. This happened to my dad and me. Check for exhaust bubbles visible in the radiator with the engine running. Our block was cracked by the front-right head-stud. A freind of our with a machine shop welded up the crack for us. The M38A1...

    Cranetruck tire bead breaker

Years ago my dad and I had to remove some fossilized tires from some WWII jeep split rim wheels. Since the tires were trash, we lined up our M37 carefully and drove over the old jeep tires to break the bead. We turned the tires several times to get a new "bite" before the bead let loose all...

Best Thing You've Found in Your CUCV

Nothing unusual found in my Blazer, but it did have the jack and lug wrench and a good spare. I found an old (and thankfully still packaged) condom in the glove compartment of my Pinzgauer.

    Bought a M915A1 today

Cool road tractor. Watch out, now you'll want a low boy trailer to go along with it, which means you can haul bigger toys!:-D

My wife takes some Deuce driving lessons

My wife won't ride in the deuce, or even the CUCV because of her bad back. She loves the Pinzgauer ambulance though because of its suspension. Guess I better get the Pinz running again...

    Hard top alignment

I almost forgot that the whole rear section on my top was put on upside-down. When it rained, lots of water got in the cab throught the upside-down window.. I flipped the section to fix the problem.

    Hard top alignment

My hard top has the same alignment problems, but the door windows do roll up. The top has low-bidder written all over it - especially the crappy paint that flakes off. It doesn't look like any primer was used. I aligned mine the best I could, but I like your binder strap idea - it just might...

    Holey thread pitch, fuelcan holder!

I don't know the size, but as a general rule the military uses fine pitch threads on vehicles. They don't vibrate loose as easily as coarse pitch threads do.

    Another M59?

    Sweet looking gasser! Good save.

    radiator not hot to touch

I'm not super familiar with these 5-tons, but are the radiator hoses extra squishy? Many vehicles have a spring inside the lower suction radiator hose to prevent collapse at higher RPM's. I have heard of this happening on gasser 5-tons. The water pumps on 5-tons can produce plenty of flow, so...

    Springtime Scrapyarding in Fontana

I would love to go, but I'll be at the ATHS truck show at the Perris trolley museum all weekend. Have fun, Matt

So, I've never actually had 2.5tons on the truck before.

    I meant air-shift. Don't know why I got bleeped.

So, I've never actually had 2.5tons on the truck before.

Here is a method that someone taught me. It is not flat where I live. CAVEAT: DO NOT skip first gear on a sprag clutch (non-air **** front axle engagement) truck. Start out in either first or second gear low range, first-low is super low. Shift through the gears as usual until you reach...
