Nahhh, not directed at anyone in particular. We sometimes just get comfortable with the guys on forums that we talk to and know their capability and forget that we are also putting this info up for anyone who drops by can read it and mistake it's meaning. Two years from now an "average guy"...
Ummm, also, technically speaking, the bearing has an inner race. That is it's name, but it is not thought of in that way since most modern bearings come with the race, cage, and roller or ball as an assembly or "cone".
Ahhh, Mopars, my favorite subject! Mopar has led the way with many new ideas through the years. Remember the Airflow? The 1950s era Chrysler 300s? The Torqueflite transmission? Dare I mention the Hemi in all it's configurations? Torsion bar suspension? Wing cars? The Little Red Express...
I might add that the clip on air chuck on a 10' hose is sort of mandatory. At least I wouldn't want to do it any closer than 10', longer if possible. I think the military instructions state to use a 10' hose also. Even if it was all chained down, you still don't want to be close to it if it...
Ahhh, but the whole point of the split rim is that you, with proper tools, can change a tire on the rim just about anywhere in the field. Granted they are dangerous, but it can be done and I believe that is the reason the military uses split rims.
Haven't put it on yet, I just got it in today. I had good luck with it on my old Galant that I had before, but it was an underpowered dog. I might take the SRT out for a run this weekend to see it it does much more than make a bunch of noise. I'm trying to leave it parked for the winter but...
I'll say this much, I am a Parts Advisor at a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealership and none of our vehicles come stock with a K&N or any similar filter. The 06' Viper Coupe even has dual paper filters, as does the SRT-10 Viper engine'd Ram, and my 230 HP Turbo SRT-4. Wit that said, the Mopar...
If I remember right Tom had to do a bit of work to get that front winch in. I believe he wanted it tucked in as much as possible, and was able to do a few mods to get it set back in the frame since he has the Cat engine in it. Might hang out pretty far if you just tacked it on the front of a...
Eh, that's easily fixed. Hell, half of the Dodge trucks I've ever owned needed the floor pans. It's not the amount of rust that matters so much. It costs about the same in time and money to fix a small hole as it does to replace the whole thing if you do it correctly. One of those with a...
Ok here's a question, was there ever an M880 series Dodge that came with a Dana 60 front axle? I rememebr years ago there was a pic of a Dodge military truck in a 4x4 mag that had a D60 up front and some sort of god-awful front brush guard with D-rings and crap. I can't remember what sort of...
I don't think very many people want to put a $12k engine in an old military truck, lol. Hell, even the new "Hemi" crate engines are $8k+. Which BTW, is not a real Hemi anyway.
Brush painting will give you cleaner breaks between colors. I have seen more 4 color camo jobs done with a brush and more 3 color jobs done with a spray gun. Also my 715 has a layer of factory sprayed OD then two coats of brush painted OD and one coat of brush painted 4 color camo. Brushing...
X2, I've talked to him a few times and he is very knowledgeable and helpful with his Deuces. He emailed me 60+pics of his #3 Cargo truck that are very detailed and I believe the truck is well worth his asking price. Check with him and see if he still has it.
It should also be noted that having a truck on GL that is in running condition appears to be a rarity. I believe most are drained of all fluids, including brake fluid, so there is no way to even fire them up to test them in most cases. I don't buy anything I can't test drive unless it's a...
