    Malibu, California-Style Black Deuce

That looks cool to me. Would be nice for a second Deuce or something. Make it nice and comfortable with a better engine and heat and A/C. The cargo cover is made by CanBack. They make canvas covers for pickups that are like that with roll up sides. On for a long bed pickup is in the range...

FM 20-22 Anybody got a copy?

Lol, it's ok Kenny answered my question on the manual, although it might not be a bad idea to send a copy to Chris so he could post it in the online manuals. We could be the first to host a free version. As to the french can spouts, I either got them from Cheaper Than Dirt, or The Sportsman's...

FM 20-22 Anybody got a copy?

They have just about all of the current stuff, but the problem is when you need an outdated and superceeded manual. that and some of the manuals on LOGSA are still not released to the public, so we can't get to those.

    Purty Cool M791 5T 8x8

Yeah, that belongs to Tom (something I can't remember). Some of the guys here know him. I talked to him about that truck a year or so ago. It's cool as hell, and would make an awesome camper, just needs a little TLC. He said it's really slow on the road though, lol. I wanted it real bad...

    Forum Down Again!

What is Arfcom? That's the second time I have seen that mentioned today near something about military surplus.

    Forum Down Again!

I don't mind it being down, that is bound to happen, but does anyone have any idea why my &^%#$@ avatar keeps changing all by itself?!?!? For some reason, for the past week it keeps putting up a stock image for the avatar instead of the pic of my 715 that I uploaded. Is my 715 so ugly that the...

FM 20-22 Anybody got a copy?

I'm still not convinced that is the whole reason for not flat towing a 715. that's why I was asking about the FM 20-22, I thought it might shed a littl emore light on the subject. Not that it's real important, since I will trailer mine anywhere it needs to go, and I'll probably be selling it...

FM 20-22 Anybody got a copy?

Thanks, Kenny, I should have known that you might have a copy of it, lol. I think the transfer case oiling is ok when towing, but I'm sure the rules still apply to pulling the shafts if exceeding a certain speed, per the manual. We just had a discussion going on on The M715 Zone about flat...

FM 20-22 Anybody got a copy?

Ok, I'm posting this in the 5 ton forum since the FM 20-22 Vehicle Recovery Operations manual mainly pertains to the 5 ton wreckers. I have looked all over the place and can't seem to find a copy of this online, except to purchase. Specifically I am looking for something in the range of the...

    NDT, NDCC, and NATO NDT's

I take it that you are the Garbee of garbee.net fame? I keep getting that site when I look for tires, lol. Lots of good info on there about M37 rims and tires and some of it applies to M715s also. I keep trying to find a tire in the 11.00-16 size other than the ultra expensive Michelin XLs...

I take it those are the OEM hubs in the pics? They look really nice, but geez they stick out really far!

    Truck Nuts ?

Cool, I'm glad none of you took that the wrong way. Kenny, I know what you mean about the wheeling situation. We still have idiots around here who think that lift blocks on the front axle are ok, and all-thread rod makes great axle U-bolts. Slap on a Confederate Flag and some CB antennas and...

    Truck Nuts ?

Eh, these things have been around for at least 15 years or more. You see this company in the back of 4x4 mags all the time: http://www.trucknutz.com Personally I put these things in the same category as the "Redneck" and "Git'r Done" stickers and the wonderfully informative bumper stickers...

    m37 pics

Eh, I'm just messing with you, Kenny. But you are right, the M715 really does take well to modifications. Whether you go full tilt and overbuilt like Tom's rig, or a modernized, but still historically tasteful truck like Lee's Cummins 4BT conversion, the 715 has limitless possibilities...

Cargo Cover Contemplations - What a mess!

The new style covers are one piece, front and back end curtains are made into the cover. The older style is 3 piece.

A 715 no more than a CUCV?!? Shame on you, Kenny! The 715 is the last of the true tactical trucks until the HMMWV came out. When I got my 715 I thought it would be an easy restoration since they look just like a J series pickup, but boy was I wrong, lol. There is hardly anything about this...

    mog update...STEEL?

Yeah, my cousin fell in love with GR's Volvo when we were at his place to pick up the 'Mog. That thing has unreal ground clearance and the Michelins look right at home on it. I'd kill to have one, but I'll settle for a nice Deuce when I find one. Nice to have you here, GR.

    5ton wreckers

I agree. that's a nice complete truck that, while it may need some work, it should be sold whole to someone who will but some time into it. it would be a shame to part it out for nickle and dime stuff when it's a complete looking truck.
