Sounds pretty normal, extended run time at no load will cause "wet stacking" essentially unburnt fuel is making its way out of the exhaust where ever it is able to. A run on the road with some load and it should go away until the next time it is left to idle without load. Just a multi quirk...
Welcome man, this certainly isn't off topic IMO. This place is for all MVs, we just don't happen to have many that float. IF you can post up some pics as you progress in the resto, i love boats, tugs especially.
 DOH !!!!!! The donate button is only there when you are in a thread. That would explain why i couldn't find it on the main page last night or this mornin. Didn't even cross my mind that the header might be different in a thread. Off to pay my tab i go........... thanks a bunch :-)
Wasn't there a "donate" button around here somwhere that linked to the SS paypal??? Went to pay last night any realized the i can't find it. Let me know where to send it and i shall as soon as i get home from work tonight.
Thanks
WoW man, that is an amazing score. That thing sure is impressive enough folded up and breathtaking folded out. I can hardly wait to see what ya do with this thing as time goes on. You had better bring that to the GA rally next year, i need to see that in person.
Diesel doesn't go bad like gas, it can certainly collect quite a bit of water and then as a result start growing sludgy crud. As long as you filer it a bit i say run it.
If the numbers match then you scored a sweet deal, GL has been know to screw up now and then so its not a huge surprise that they incorrectly listed something. Heck, these things have mil ID tags right on em and sometimes they don't even list what they are.
hmmm, tough call there, do the numbers on the stuff you picked up match the auction numbers you won??? If so i say shut your mouth and consider yourself lucky. If however the numbers don't match then you may have some other persons stuff. Then the moral dilemma begins.
Well i can't be of much help then :-( FWIW i say drive it home. Do any PM needed right where it sits and head south. Going to be your cheapest route and any truck in decent shape should make it 300 miles easily. I am assuming that you are buying from a fellow SS member??? Loads of guys between...
What kind of transport are you looking for??? Big difference between trailering a truck from NH to NY and driving it. Where exactly in NH will it be departing from?
Well, i'm gonna skip the BS and go right to my point. I could have gambled with a GL truck and it MIGHT have cost me less but i bought from a SS member and have never regretted it.
I don't really personally know anyone on here with a truck for sale at the second. But i did meet mike (maddawg)...
Hmmm, lemme see according to mapquest you are roughly......
Total Estimated Time: 1 hour 23 minutes
Total Estimated Distance: 59.09 miles
Thats not too bad, if i happen to head to the south shore i'll let ya know, maybe i can at least stop in and make sure the old gal is resting peacefully...
