Have any of you HEMTT/MK48/PLS owners ever converted to a keyed ignition switch? If so where did you get the switch and what was the part number. I want to do it but am having a little trouble trying to locate a switch the has the proper number of terminals on the back.
This is what they...
I received an e-mail to take a survey for GP. If any of you do I seriously recommend you take it, especially if you have had problems. If they take their surveys seriously and we all take them and point out the short falls and problems maybe, just maybe they will strive to actually do something...
Does anyone have a wiring diagram M985 crane remote control assy.? If I can get a copy I am pretty sure I can make one. Granted, mine won't have a variable control, but a complete diagram is my first step.
Ok, can't seem to find the answer in the operators manual. On the HEMTT(M985) the dash control for the drive system, what are the meaning and what axles drive in each setting. In center at "Off", "8X8" to the right is self explanatory, and "Inter Axle Diff. Lock." And what is the difference...
Does anyone have the operators manual for the M985 HEMTT? I would like to find one I could download but all I can seem to find is a troubleshooting manual (-10-1) and the -24 and -34. Any help would be appreciated.
After a few years of buying, selling, and trading up I have turned an 2010 M1101 trailer into a 1987 M985 HEMMT. Proof of "Where there is a will, there is a way." It has just under 5k miles and was over hauled in 2001 with a fresh engine and more and also came with 3 extra 16.00s on wheels. I...
I have looked in the TM and can only find information for changing the radiator as an assy. I have a truck that is leaking at the gasket for the left tank. I have new gaskets but need a torque specification for the 40 nuts/bolts that mounts it. The TMs don't show anything for that as that is not...
Thought this may interest some of you. This is a really good use for a HET M1070.

I was at a car show there last Saturday and checked out some equipment on display. I know what the HML is and the M915s. I also know what the trailers do but have no idea od the designations. But I don't have a clue as to what the crew cab Autocar is. Any help on designations and use would be nice.
I see CUCVs for sale a lot and see prices that trend higher than an equivalent Chevy truck. So my simple question is, why? I would think the Mil spec stuff would make them a little more difficult to work on and source parts for. So I am curious. Thanks.
So evidently the M939A2 series has a self destruct system that we are not aware of. rofl
This has my sides hurting it is sooooo funny. I don't have an A2 by the way.
My EUC cleared Tuesday and I was able to recover my M1031 Contact truck yesterday. This is a very nice low miles truck and came with a bunch of tools and stuff. The truck only has 6845 miles and you can tell by looking how clean the 6.2 diesel is and there is no grease gobs on the steering...
Won the bid for a 1986 CUCV D30 service truck. The truck only has 6845 miles on it. Not sure when I will actually get to pick it up as I have to submit an EUC. Got a good buy though at $4k before fees/taxes.
This car show is in appreciation of our military men and women. All MV's are welcome as well as all show vehicles of any type. Mtnsnow and I are planning to set up a compound with at least 5 M939 series tucks with trailers and camo netting. We will welcome anyone who wishes to join us. We will...
I can't seem to find the answer to my problem in the TM. My winch will reel in but has no pulling power. The truck is an M923 that I have put the system on. My questions are:
1st; Is the cable supposed to reel in over the top of the drum or go under the bottom?
2nd; Does it matter which...
Got out to Hill AFB, Utah today to pick up the M925A1 we won last week from GP. Was listed as non runner with out batteries so we had planned to use my M923 to tow bar it off. I actually spent Sunday prepping for the recovery to make sure we had everything we needed. Well, we lucked out. After...
How many of you have wrapped your cracked/damaged steering wheel. I came up with the idea of wrapping my M923 steering wheel with paracord. It took about 150 feet and around an hour to do with a helper. The wheel feels more comfortable to me now and doesn't look as nasty as it did. The wrap was...
Are all the PCB boxes interchangeable between the 3 series of M939 trucks? Basically I want to know if they all do the same thing from M939 to M939A1 to M939A2. I know of 2 types as I have one of each and one has an electronic curcuit board and the other doesn't. I have been told they do...
Have any of you ever had your trucks weighed? I have an M923A0 that I have basically converted to an M925A0 and used it to haul some scrap metal today and the weigh out surprised me a little. She scaled at 24,440lbs with a full tank of fuel, fiberglass troop seats, cargo cover, heavy duty tow...
