Bought a m931a2 off the auction that already had the tranny fluid converted over to Dexron. Also has a red dipstick handle. Just curious if anybody else has seen this?
Does the fluid coming out of the blowby feel like antifreeze? It looks like steam. My 929a2 was doing the same thing. It wasn't getting hot, no bubbling in fill tank, no water in oil but quite a bit of steam coming out of the blowby once warmed up. Problem ended up being the liner orings were...
Just had my 8.3L overhauled because of the liner o-rings were installed wrong. Luckily I caught it soon enough, just had a little steam out of the blow-by and no antifreeze in the oil.
Just did my second swap to a Delco 21si on one of my 929a2's. Pretty simple. You just need to grind out a notch on the existing top bracket and make a longer lower adjusting bracket. I drilled out and tapped the holes on the top bracket to accommodate the bigger bolts needed for new alternator...

I sold the only 809 series I have at home. My 929's have 8.3L.
Last minute decision to go this route instead of fighting the old fuel. I'm in town getting some stuff and thought somebody might know the fitting size so I could pick up what I need.
I'm getting ready to recover 2 trucks. I'm wanting to bypass fuel tanks and go directly to filter or pump and needed to know what size fittings, fuel line etc. Just need to get them running long enough to get on trailer. Thanks!
