Thanks for the replies. And thank you to the guys who have offered seat covers. I have my mind set on black vinyl (I know, I know.... No AC + black vinyl = misery), but it sure does look slick. After doing a lot of reading on here and seeing posts about how almost every internet company sends...
rodent, thats a good looking seat! I recently saw one completely done in black/gray tweed that looked good too. Cucvrus, I'm starting to lean toward a local upholstery service just purely due to the fitment. There's something about paying $250 for a kit and the fit not being 100% that seems to...
Ok, I have searched the CUCV forum for info on this and I thought I'd try to start a current thread of recommendations. So, what is everyone using to re-cover your M1008 bench seats? Are you using local upholsters or do you have certain name brand re-covering kits that you prefer? And what is...
Gentlemen, thank you for your help. I picked up a new master cylinder at O'Reilly's today. I bought the Model #: NMC1982 for $44. It fixed the issue. It was a win win since the new MC was cheaper than the one I bought from summit. Mailing the other back tomorrow. It feels good to be able to...
Yes. I bench bleed the master. Everything appeared to be normal at that time. My power steering pump is good. Turning the wheels feels normal. I guess I will look at autozone for a different master cylinder. Does that seem to be the consensus?
Frankencub, how'd you de-air the prop Valve? Just...
Hey guys, about two months ago I noticed my proportioning valve leaking as well a few other brake line leaks which lead me to figure out that someone had mixed two different brake fluids in the master cylinder. So I started on an adventure to install a new brake system from master cylinder all...
Hey guys,
Has anyone used Classic Tubes for their stainless steel brake line replacements? If you did and you have the M1008, what kit number did you order?
Thanks for the information! This has been extremely helpful! Does anyone have a good location to buy the proportioning valve for the M1008? I have read in other threads that it is the PV2 proportioning valve. Is this correct? I know the GM parts codes are either 18008085 or 1257203. Could the...
Ok. Great! This is all great info. And I appreciate all of the experienced opinions and knowledge. So in the pic below, this is my existing master cylinder. Are the color differences proof of mixed fluid? Or is there another reason it would change color?
Thanks guys! Yes sir. I am aware of their incompatibilities. I have to do a complete new brake system on my M1008 due to multiple leaks and was wondering what popular opinion was on the two different fluids. I assume most people are using DOT 5 silicone? But I'm also wondering if given the...
I think I will just replace the vacuum pump gasket since I know I have never done it. Besides, it's time for an oil change anyway. While I am back there, what sensor is on the back of the motor on the driver's side? I'll probably change it while I'm there. I just need to know so I can read...
Yeah, that makes sense. I've been under it and I don't see any oil being blown on the fan. Problem is, I don't see an active leak anywhere while the truck is running and I'm lying underneath it. What I do see is oil run off coming down the back of the oil pan just in front of the flywheel cover...
That's a good idea Drock. I know the IP is good. I'll try to check the vacuum pump and sensor. Quick question though, if the vacuum pump seal wasn't sealing, wouldn't my vacuum pressures be off a bit? Also, what drivers side sensor are you talking about?
