Hey Kevin,
I have been really busy and out of town a lot so I haven't been on the site much but caught this thread.
I would love to hook up with you again out in Fontana but I am going out deep sea fishing off San Miguel Sat night-Sunday evening with a friends charter group.
I opted to stay...
I'd be interested in going again as well in June for some Bobbin' supplies. My old body shop partner is enthused about helping me with the project at our old/his shop. Plasma cutter, hoist, and a forklift - Woohoo!!!
You are welcome Randy.
By the way, Auto Body Toolmart (above link) is a also a great place to buy all tools/materials for body work and repainting of your MV from bare metal to paint ready.
Prices are really good and it's as close as your phone and UPS.
No, they do not sell paint.
Devin,
I know on Peterbuilt, Freightliner, etc. it says right on the frame not to weld. I am no metallurgist but welding may take the temper out of the steel leading to stress cracking.
I may have an idea for your drilling woes:
If you don't have one, rent a BMF drill motor and suspend it by a...
Gary,
Isn't this the same one that gave you a mouthful of gas trying to siphon?? Gag gag gag
You need to get it back since you have already swapped fluids.
Excellent Devin!
Looks like the left rear axle seal may be moot. If you need the tooling to reinstall the axle seal let me know. I also have the 1" impact if you haven't picked up one yet to bust them lug nuts loose - it sure beats having your veins poppin' outa' your forehead trying to use a...
Hey Jed,
Where ya been? Haven't seen you in a while. Was gonna send out a search party.
Good to hear from you and that you still have truck and working on it.
Re: RE: Fontana trip
I saw a bunch of whole shock seats. I wasn't aware of your request but Will may have found it for you. He has the benefit of his teenage son there with him. That guy was climbing on, under, and in everything. A lot more Deuces were there than last time I was there. Not...
Mostly went to hang with the other members and say hi. The yard seemed to be a lot fuller as it was a little more difficult to get around everything this time.
I'm getting ready to go the single axle rear (same as Devin) and possibly bob it as well. Located the essentials so will be going back...
Devin,
If you need any work on the drive shaft let me know. I can take you to a place out here in Oxnard. They lengthen/shorten, balance, and put new U-joints in. Great place, did all my hot rods.
Headwizard - Your truck really has the Wow  look to it with them big skins.
Steve (DF) - Have never seen your truck before. It is a beauty! [thumbzup]
Some serious time spent refurbishing it and it shows. Hats off to ya.
Spent the day with the guys down here at the local MV junkyard...
I am so there.
Checked the weather report and looks to be a perfect 65 degrees. Oh man this is living!!!

appnut1,
I would be very interested in seeing what your gas mileage does dropping that weight and rolling resistance from the extra axle.
With singles it should be even better.
Keep us posted on that one.
Anyone else have some figures?
Hey 100dollarman,
