From my research so far:
List of all known BRDM2 vehicles in private hands in the USA
1-DFW area, Texas - polish chemical detector variant small turret RKHB running condition, missing many pieces on the inside. Owner is known and in contact
2.DFW area, Texas -Czech chemical detector, small...
that’s why you close the engine hatch. It’s fairly quiet when the hatch is closed.
The engine hatches are on hinges that swing out for easy access. It’s no trouble to open them up.
they’re super easy to get out. I use regular car batteries. Just need strong arms. You lift
The engine deck and there they are, right by the master switch.
No, they don't. What I am going to do is wire in a converter to charge my phone and run a fan that sucks air out. Isn't hard, you have 2 big batteries in the back right of the vehicle.
As the maximum width for US roads is 9-6 they're wrong. A BTR60 cannot be legally driven on US roads.
A BRDM2 can.
I registered a BRDM2 previously.
BTR60s are reliable vehicles but reliable for an AFV is different than a car. You can replace them with a single diesel but it involves some...
Howdy,
I'm returning home in about 2 and a half weeks from TDY and I want to get my BRDM2 registered. I reside in Johnson County, Texas. I registered one previously in 2013 in Tarrant county. I have the bill of sale and Vin verification/ VTR-68 document by an auto theft cop. Do I still need to...
That's a vent for a fan that's under the dash on the left. I've never thought about adding AC, maybe a big fan on the inside to keep temps down but no matter what it'll be hotter than two squirrels in a wool sock in june. It's made to be sealed up nice and tight and absorbs a lot of heat...
I've tried double clutching, it doesn't want to shift even then. It's almost like there's something wrong with the shifting mechanism and it won't go into gear. When I move the stick it hits a wall.
Nearly everything that takes oil takes EP90 GL4-axles, diffs, trans, transfer case, etc. You can use 80/90 just fine as long as it's GL4 or really any gear oil that's 90w and gl4. Fluid in the brake and clutch I think is aeroshell 41. Can't remember what the hydro system takes. The engine can...
I would leave the engine as is. They aren't powerful, suck down gas, but they are reliable and well designed. Send the electronics off to petronics and let them rebuild it and you''ll get more power and performance for your buck.
If you can get a BRDM2 delivered for 15000 that's a good deal...
Seems like ours is easy to get into first and harder to get into R but going from first to second is a bear. It starts quickly and it's a sweet vehicle, however.
Any pointers? Perhaps I'm not getting the double clutching down right?
Since you're in Dallas there are 2 BRDMs in the DFW area. Mine (Czech NBC) and one down in Waxahachie at an airsoft field (NBC-a model, big turret).
Ask away.
