PS- Page(s) of post follow above one as things have progressed. More to come. Video in the works. Reminder...
ohhh... and btw... anyone got some ideas on how to attatch wall tarps to a spreader bar? Am thinking a 16ft 2x6 with 1"? hole drilled in the ends to fit an LMTV shackle. Would rather 17ft or longer... but that is not available around here.
Plan thus far is..
> Spreader bar across tarp...
SMACK DOWN... grrr
Anyone got a source for an end wall. Appears one I have with the man door that may be beyond usable. its ripped up pretty badly. Just discovered this yesterday afternoon
PS- started working on video editing. Its going to be a Stubborn mess.
Everyone Vote tomorrow...
After the alts isolated (ground all the way to the partnering Neg. stud at battery bank) ... am I correct in thinking that generic ground can be used for everything else no matter its voltage?
Tell that too my phone that fell over while recording the most important part and I didn't know it till 20min. later. Lost the whole video of use three most efficiently raising the Final section. Thought it would help a member here....... but nooooooo.. Murphy had other plans.
never said I...
Took me three hours to do the First Eave purlin on the second section. Mostly cause I changed plans and tried to use the ladder on the ground...and it aint small. 20ft..... extends to maybe 35ft? Lean style not A frame. Had in leaning on truck. What a huge waste of time. Went back to the idea...
horribly done videos are coming.
Ohh and on a good note..... yesterday ordered 20mil 20x30 tarp to lay on the ground below this. And a bunch of stakes. This will lessen moisture from ground coming up and clinging to everything causing mold on everything from the condensation that forms from...
Well this didn't go to well... cause have to now build it at full height mostly. Issue is cant reach parts of it to build it. Box top of truck is 7 feet wide..... and the span out to the eaves is aournd 15 feet wide. That has made it complicated. that and lifting both new section and part...
More details later... but first 8ft section standing on itsits own. Lots of measuring and refiguring .. HOPEFULLY it is sitting exactly where I need it.
> Lifted whole thing 5ish feet up and added legs /purlins
> put it down, picked it up... wash rinse repeat many times as was jockeying it...
BTW... while not in a hurry..... but if anyone ends up with broken/bent purlins/ridge beam they dont want. cut out the section with the arm that swings out that "spin locks" to a Leg or Rafter- (Arch Beam) and send them my way. Could use 8 of them.
Thinking eventually could add a pair...
W/out cover.... first section.. 8foot constructed MINUS the the bottom 8ft of walls to get total height. With section sitting on the headers.. atop of the truck's box the peak of this section is at 11-ish feet high..... so 5 feet higher to go .... Didnt use the tall jack stands.. Whole build...
Ok... so is two pieces 16x34 ... that span from ground, over top of roof and back to ground.. result being a complete 1/2 of the enclosure- ( two walls, full 1/2 of roof top).. In addition will separately be the two curtained ends...
Got it... thanks
so then coulddddd if decided just put up...
define a section? Is it, 2 walls and Roof = section?? Walls only = section and roof is seperate?? (if so Im missing stuff) orrr??
Ive got two huge bundles of tent/tarp w/guy rope on them with this purchase. Does that sound like Im missing major stuff?
Hmmm..... then again... could add the two eaves Purlins...... use Cherry Picker like above described to lift it up on jack stands.. the continue assembly as described above. whole section then would end up needing only a one foot lift to put in position on ground. hmmmm?
See this post
oh am not ignoring that at all. Schemes exist in my brain bucket.... they are just not vetted much yet. Am I correct there is four roof canvas and eight wall sections?
🤠 😱 🤯
Think have a plan after got mind blown. If it makes sense to you... pick it apart for pit falls, Thanks in advance.
put cherry picker on roof of Truck box with its end of lift arm as close to fore/aft center of 10'ft boxes top as possible. Actually just forward of that to...
litte Math-en says no. cheery picker wont work on roof op... unless one disassembles it after building a section.. so can drive underneath header /cross beam, ot move truck box forward to center-ish area of the net section to construct.... then reassemble it for build of next section. which...
